Solo Orik is broken OP
Items:

Storming Mikazuki (haste)
HP Bracers x2

Deck:

Lai Cut x3
Fortune's Favor
Bushido
Calming Wisdom
Melancholy
Anything (cyclone slash)

Turn 1: Lai Cut / Lai Cut / Fortune's favor
Turn 2: Bushido / Melancholy / Lai Cut / Lai Cut
Turn 3: Lai Cut / Lai Cut / Lai Cut / Cyclone Slash
repeat

You have big DPS and nothing can touch you, you are immortal on legend dificulty. Also, you riposte all attacks.

The core is really just fortune's favor healing you every time you are hit. And the fact that solo you have access to your entire deck every turn.

You can probably do something similar with other heroes, Orik is just the most broken and obvious example. But the problem with balance in this game is that taking fewer heroes is stronger since you have a predictable hand and trigger your strongest combo's every turn.

Lol i even dont know u can play solo. Anyway game is very easy even on legend difficulty for ppl who play card game a lot, u can destroy everything faster just playing standart party of 3. Also later in the game there will be mobs with status effect so i doubt its soloble with only orik, but i agree he is a bit broken, best dd with right setup.

I destroyed the last boss with Orik and Copernica, he's really OP with his crit and haste buff when played right.

Orik can still get hit hard by the big bad guys. Armilly is VERY overpowered on the other hand. She can stagger lock the bosses...

Currently using:

Armily-
1x Aspiring Hero
2x Bravado
2x Hot Iron
2x Intercept
1x Shout

You can replace Aspiring Hero with Upgraded To Victory

Equips:
Ancient Sword
Journeyman Badge
Power Servo

Carry some status removal / status immunity accessories and you're good to roll.

Fewer chars gives more chances to get combos almost Everytime. I play with Orik and Copernica for the most parts, I defeated the last boss with them
I find solo Armily or Copernica more consistent than Orik.

But yeah, no reason to use more than 2 characters.

It only really works until like Act 3 where healing disable and stun locking becomes the norm. I say Act 2 needs to step up in term of difficulty because it doesn't really prepare the players for Act 3 much.

Been playing around with solo play and damn it makes the game trivial :) Armily is a beast, interesting to see how it holds up through a bit of Act2.

Wait for act 3. In Act 1 and 2, slogfest always win as barely anything, not even bosses, can outdamage your sustain. Act 3, the damage start to skyrocket, heals no longer scale as fast as your HP and poison never stop ticking.
I don't understand why you'd restrain yourself to 1 hero aside from trying to break the game that is already fairly easy. Tbf if I could I would even use more than 3 heros, I'm playing Galleo on both comp and Orik and the kids for the mobs and Coppernica and Armilly for the bosses. Btw, if the status are a problem for a solo char just used the accessory that grants immunity to all status

It doesn't grant to all status. Some, like paralysis will still go through. And you don't get those until you finish the Colos which will likely require you to run all 3 anyway with its "Permanently poison, cannot be cleansed and blocked" status.

Skill lock is a big offender because even if you wear the one from Colos + The merchant, neither of them block skill lock.

Also solo/duo option is best for speed grinding when you want to buy stuff from the merchant or get more mat to upgrade everything. I'm running Orik + Galleo + Tarah/Thayne for everything and when I need to grind fast, I remove Galleo so it's easier to cycle for the Death Pulse which, with a quick set up in a turn, instantly ends the small fight beside the dark immune one (medusa) that is too tedious anyway.

Pure Sash blocks vast majority of status. For the rest you just kinna have to waste a turn using Ointment/Salt with 2 cheap repair vial. Coin shouldn't be a problem since you solo. You should have plenty left by not using them on other characters.

This is why I am not a fan of solo Orik. He needs 2 HP boost with mask to survive on legend, leaving him wide open to status and those lightning jars. Solo Armily or Copernica can get away with using Pure Sash and are much more consistent.

Of course, you can just use 2 characters, but I see no reason to use more than that.

Pretty sure if you solo, the major roadblock Orik's boss fight that has a DPS check will destroy you for spamming potion instead of dealing damage as you struggle to take down the healer.

And 3 characters work fine if they have really good DPS Synergy and abuse Orik. It's really just Orik insane crit buff that break the game when used with any DPS, including himself.
I already beaten the game on legend. Armily pretty much stomps through that fight with stuns. Copernica with Ironbound Tome and Elementary puts out insane DPS while still spamming 1000 HP worth of mana shield every turn. Even damage from the final boss on legend can barely scratch her.

That Orik fight in particular, just focus on the back 2 while ignoring the front one.

TBF, in term of strat, there's no such thing as a hard turn-based game because the only difficulty comes from not knowing what the AI can do and whether there's a damage check or not. The Orik boss fight is like the only fight where the enemies actually have proper synergy with actual healing on the enemy side. It's why I bring it up the only potential road block for a solo run. If it's a duo or trio then there's no problem as someone has a method of sustain and someone can deal huge damage.

And the final boss fight isn't difficult at all It does no damage until the final phase that you barely have to heal to kill phase 1 and 2. Orik buffed with Bushido, his Fujin mask and Galleo's Chill Out combined with the Twin's Doom can kill it at 70% health during Phase 2 and enter the final phase with only 1 + 1k heal hp on the maw
