I've come to critique the game. Played on switch.
My biggest problem with this RPG is that the RPG leveling up is nothing but flavor. The game allows you to level up like 3 times a mission and after that cuts your exp gain to like 1/20th of what you would normally get. This means at the start of every mission you will have no choice but to grind and level up because the enemies will always out match you when you go into a new mission.

They should just remove the leveling up mechanics and scale the difficulty up in a way that is much less artificial than GRIND, WIN, GRIND, WIN, GRIND, WIN.

Some of the bosses are incredibly difficult even if you do grind to the max level of that mission, and every time you level the stats you gain go up tremendously. At level 1 you get like 10 str a level then at 10 you can gain like 100 str. You never feel like you're actually getting stronger because every mission the enemies will out level you.

use your brain, he basically wrote it's artificially hard to a degree where you're forced to grind, instead of being hard in terms of strategically demanding.

Grinding is the most boring way to finish this game, I'd say. And you can definitely beat it without any grinding on all difficulty levels. The best way to have fun with this game is to think really hard about your deckbuilding and devise a strategy that's both adaptable and iteratable. There are many different card and character combos. You can even upgrade your cards! So if you're stuck, head to the deck-building screen and experiement!

Having played a bit, the bosses are clearly designed to be beating by the cards you can find in each level. They are rock hard compared to everything else in the game, but I don't know why you would grind when with a bit of thought you can beat them.

I don't want to be a complete hater... But your characters power scaling feels like something you'd get out of a clicker rpg. One level you get 50+ str and the next level you get like 300+. I'm probably being inaccurate but leveling is pretty up required when it is like 50% extra damage in the end.

Nonsense... I built my deck how I wanted at map 4 and I can't beat the boss without going for cheap tricks (getting poison and bleeding null accesories). Cool, I devised the deck that I wanted, so I can now beat him, right? WRONG. Because the cards appear randomly and when my character dies, their card sticks in, so I'm stuck with useless cards... And I have to restart the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight getting NO PROGRESS AT ALL. Not even as to devise a new strategy... This flaw is simply killing this game...

EDIT: Just beat the 4th level boss... Strategy? Almost none, PURE LUCK that cards were drawing in that order...

Currently in Act 4 and have not had a team wipe yet, honestly I find the trash mobs harder than the bosses

If you're struggling with only the 4th boss, you might need to lower the difficulty.

You absolutely, 100%, do NOT need to grind in order to beat this game. If you feel like the game is too hard, just lower the difficulty setting.

Gonna say this here as a clarification, this is more a less a spoiler.

The dragon boss apparation before you can get one of the keys to the door, is a garbage encounter. Its totally immune to physical damage. If you have a hero that's physical only, enjoy bricking your hand constantly.

Completely dislike any encounter that invalidates an entire toon in a team of 3, sorry gonna call this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Rest of the game has been a heavenly experience.

And yes in case we have white knights in the house I got through the encounter.

Get cards, literally every member of the game has a fully elemental basic attack, you just gotta get em and use em.

Spam healing cards. Fight will take longer but eh...

I beat this on normal difficulty. I cleared all floors and did very little extra grinding(did get wiped by regular mobs a few times though). Few bosses took 2-3 tries, but most of them were at a good difficulty, beating them 1st try. The last boss I did beat 1st try but it took like 40 minutes of slow grind. It

Playing on Legend on the switch... I've never had to grind to win (though I've made sure fight everything so far). I have had to restructure my deck to beat a couple bosses (the canary guy and the ch 4 boss) or counter mobs (bomb spiders cleared me pretty well at first). Use potions if you have to, and revives, don't be too stingy. Make sure you get EVERY chest for good gear and, more importantly, good cards. Split your damage if you need to (for elemental weaknesses/to bypass armor).
