Plane Mechanic Simulator

Bolt Time
I like the game so far, but having to take off the bolts that hold down the upper engine cover on the tiger moth can be a bit time consuming. Maybe have the nuts unscrew but the bolts are pulled out? It takes about 3 seconds for the unscrew animation to play, so to get all the nuts and bolts (65 parts) off takes about 195 seconds and having the bolts pull out after removing the nuts would drop the time to 108 seconds. I'm not sure how bad this is on the larger planes since I haven't reached them yet, but I imagine it could be the same.
Edit: Maybe have it so the bolt plays the unscrewing animation, then both it and the nut are removed at the same time.

it gets a bit worse with the spitfire, 2nd plane, but you do get upgrades once you level up. I would suggest getting the 1st lvl for the assistant (assistant will let you take out 1 additional screw at the same time for each lvl), 1 lvl for the repair minigame, and either inspection or the time increase.
think I have max assistants now and it will do 5 at a time.

I mean it sucks in real life too having to remove a bolt and double nut... just saying.

I have recognized one small issue regarding screws that may point on the same thing poosted here in the initial threat...
If you have a bolt which goes through an upper and lower cover, and the bolt is countered buy a nut... then I only have to unscrew the nut. The bolt just can be put out, because the bolt goes through througholes (without a threat).
In the simulation I saw a screwing process where the nut was screwed, but the bolt was screwed (unneccessarily) as well.
So maybe devs could delete that botl unscrewing?!

some do go straight through but some are actually threaded to hold better. there were a few bolts like that on my old Chevy Beretta head.

Yes, the Gipsy Major engine uses through holes.
This is a historically inaccurate detail.

Exactly. A plain though hole, this is not a steel block Beretta engine.

Gipsy Major is cast aluminum.

most modern cars the blocks are cast iron, the heads are aluminum, or similar lighter metals, to save weight and improve gas mileage.
Metallos Mar 11, 2019 @ 4:27pm
Even many blocks are made of aluminium alloy (lighter, better heat transfer to coolant), the piston runs in liners made of steel. Example (look at the cylinders): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cylinder_block_for_V6_Diesel.jpg

But for trucks cast-iron is still used for longer life.
