Game freezes randomly, how to fix it ?

This game runs no problem on my older pc, but recently I tried it on my newer pc which has all the best hardware installed (like RTX4090, 9800x3d etc) and frankly this game starts to freeze randomly at various places, and when that happens my pc freezes too, so I have to restart the pc. I can run those demanding AAA games at highest graphic settings smoothly but not D5?

Anyone experience this similar issue? I'd appreciate any solution to this, although I can play it smoothly on my old pc but I prefer playing the game on the better pc with 4k monitor

i am facing this issue too, i read somewhere that it is a sound issue and you have to download OpenAL sound library, and even though i did that it didn't solve the issue.

it turns out the freeze is caused by CPU usage spikes at random timings, like the cpu usage would suddenly go to near 100% in a flash and if it doesn't completely freeze your pc then it will suddenly drop back to normal. This is most likely a compatibility issue between the game and Windows 11 and some other drivers and BIOS, for my setup, after I finally updated my MB's BIOS version to the latest it seems to get better, played for a relatively long time and it didn't freeze my pc completely again, although sometimes the stutter and usage spikes still happen, so I guess it is a compatibility issue, but this still proves that Disgaea 5 pc version is not well coded

I was having this issue. I managed to fix the problem by switching the resolution from 1440p to 1080p. I also changed it to window mode and have not had a freeze or stutter since.
