Whatever happened to Peta-tier spells?

Just some food for thought.
Peta spells were an even more powerful level of elemental magic, higher than Tera tier, As far as I know, they are exclusively used in Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days.

So my question is: Where did they go? Why is it that they didn't get carried over into 3, ,4, 5, or D2?

peta spells did appear in D4 Return (the vita version)

Ah, I see. Yeah, I just saw that on the wiki a moment ago :)

Hm. That's even stranger then. They got put back into D4 Return but then left out (again) in D5.

You'd think they'd keep a tier of magic.

i'd say no more chance for it to be appear in D5.
see what will they do in next disgaea, or wait for more details of disgaea 1 refine/complete

...huh. An HD remake of Hour of Darkness? Kinda makes me question what the point was of Disgaea PC now.

i could be wrong, i think disgaea 1 refine is their celebration title of NIS 25th anniversary

yeah, sadly disgaea pc looks pale compare to refine/compplete :(

Disgaea 1 Refine is barely qualified a remaster, not a remake. It just takes what Disgaea PC did, and makes a couple more changes. Near as I can recall reading/seeing, it's just updating the sprites and UI, and those changes would be largely 'personal preference' changes, rather than real improvements.

Well, the sprites would be higher resolution of course, so no blurry or pixelated sprite art, but as to whether you like the changes they made is individual.

well it does have chance to get some QoL updates from previous titles, or some new additions. just wait for more information, they haven't finish developing refine/complete yet

Well, now I know about it I guess I'll keep my eye on it. Definitely not high on my wish list considering I have Disgaea PC and Hour of Darkness' mechanics haven't aged well at all.

Maybe if they include the Disgaea 5 improvements I'll give it a try later down the line but for now it seems like a complete waste of time and resources.

I don't think Disgaea Refine really counts as a remake when most of the stuff that's being used is recycled from other games. It's really cheap if you ask me considering Disgaea is one of their most important series.

Can't argue against that. DD2 had 1:1 remakes of original-game maps and they've even gone so far as to remove the Galactic Demon and replace it with the Rifle Demon.
