No, he is just a random OP boss that can appear in the item world (and usually you just flee because that's how powerful he is even to late game teams).
All there is to him is a bonus to the item if you beat him or a lot of dead characters if you try and fail without fleeing.

If the map does have those islands it's definitely one way to deal with him from outside of his range.

I don't think you can recruit baal either, but this game is weird in the fact that you can recruit so many of the unique enemies compared to the previous in the series, usually the story enemies are not recruitable and only the cameos from post-game battles join you as uniques.

maybe theres an save editor which edit the characters you recruit turning them into Proto Darkdeath or many more..

i found a fish character in the item world lel

That's the weakest of Proto you could find in IW, so I'm not sure what you're going at here.

A few people in the convo here is pointing their finger at the LoC version of Proto, which have maximized stats of 99 millions (pretty much a LoC Ba'al but a lot weaker with less evility and no minions), and he could be a real pain in the ass if your team isn't prepared for him.

Normal Protos are a joke, and aren't even a challenge, lol.

Edit : Oh ♥♥♥♥ I didn't realize you were saying about how that guy is trapped on the island so he can't get to you guys lmfao xDD.

If there is someone who would make a mod for it, yeah sure, but no, it's very unlikely to happen.

Spoilers Warning.

If you're talking about story enemies as in Void Dark, Goldion, Majorita and so on, then it's because they do join you as a playable character set by the game. Recruiting is different in such a sense that you force an entity that used to be an enemy directly into your team, which, is impossible if they're not configured for it (ex. Dark Liezerotta, LoC Void Dark, Ba'al )

Exactly, kek. Why run when you can cheese?

The bastard still killed my Armor Knight though. If i didn't have my trusty Sage i doubt i'd do it.

holy hell now that's a lucky spawn
Fel Nov 5, 2018 @ 8:20am
It's not necessarily where he spawned because you can lift and throw him normally like mostly everything in the game (lifting is even a valid way to force a strong boss to "skip" a turn at the cost of the character holding it at the end of a turn getting killed).
The loss of his armor knght tends to point towards that as well.

Yup, i hoped she'd tank the hit for the character throwing Proto. She did... But she died. RIP Knight 2k18-2k18.

Which kind?
The two ways I know about are deleting characters that get killed (or not using them anymore for uniques) and reincarnating them if/when they get killed (to simulate the whole "it's later in the game, so a level 1 joining now would have better growth if you manage to train him/her" but you need to feed them a bit of mana if they die before getting enough mana for the reincarnation bill).

I'm doing the Prinny variety (aka if someone dies they're stuck as a GFN Prinny and must reach lv300 before atoning for all the murders they did and being allowed to reincarnate. Even then, if they die again that's final. Uniques aren't allowed except Killia and/or Void, and if they die it's Game Over.)

Classes must also start as basic ones and "promote" via reincarnation (aka Warrior > Armor Knight/Dark Knight, Healer > Professor, Mage > Sage etc. You can't switch genders and must use weapons the corresponding class uses in FE (Healers use staves, period. Female Warriors use swords but promote to Swords/Lances, etc.)
