Disgaea 5 Complete

Disgaea 5 Complete

Vis statistikker:
Proper use of Professor class
Kinda late since Im at chapter 5 right now with people at around level 30 but I unlocked Professor lady but she only have support spells, no offensive stuff. However, while having A prof with staves, she still have high aptitude towards Hit and Speed as well as Int so she can use guns. Is this optimal way, however?

Or perhaps better idea would be making Witch character (at level 28 for me), leveling her magic skills a bit and then reincarnating her into Professor who would then use both guns and staves? Or powerlevel way ahead of others to level 50 to get Giga level spell?

Please note that Im not at post-game so suggestions about levels 300 and such are out of league right now (and probably will since I disliked progress past level 100-120 in both first and second Disgaea and intend to play 5 the same, probably ignoring most hardcore post-game stuff).

Professors get support spells primarily, but also get up to Giga Star.

Generally, her proper use is Medical Care and her standard buff spells to support stronger units, and sometimes cleaning up the trash with her Star attacks

My professor got two skill scrolls used on her (star and heal), but the vast majority of her exp comes from giving buffs to her team every turn, and her buffs are significantly potent.
The only downside is that you get no mana for buffing (which is where the star spell comes in handy in the item world of a lower level).
If you play it right, a professor should never really have to attack, and her evilities make buffs much more potent so you definitely do not lose a character's worth of damage.

Just get her her tier 2 (double exp from casting buffs) and 3 evilities (a random unbuffed stat on each target will get 30% buff when casting buffs on them) and you will have a character that can give a massive amount of buffs.
Maybe I am not high level enough, but so far I only got SPD, HIT, ATK and INT buffs on her (the cleric has the two defensive ones, so maybe it is related), if you want the complete set you might want to either make scrolls from your cleric or reincarnate a cleric in a professor.

There are probably other ways to play that class, but massive buffs on my team is where mine shines.

I never gave the prof a scroll; seeing as she's meant to buff and in the extremely rare occasions I need to attack with her then she always has Element Device; it has a star shaped pattern like purgatory fist and deals star-type damage scaling off INT

Target lock boosts stealing as well. Great for if you are using the high star item world + gency trick to get higher tier gear.

I don't care about my professor's level much. I keep her behind the lines, away from the fight. She only moves up to buff, and with a staff's range she can do that from a safe distance. The prof's evility gives her buffs a lot of power, and combining them with my sage and maid can make a huge difference, allowing even fairly weak characters to get started in Martial Training, for example.

Braveheart / Magic Boost / Target Lock (+30% stat or more) + sage's Multi Attacker (attack twice) + maid's Afternoon Tea (get 2nd action) is a huge combo. And that's before abusing evilities.

However, if you want to level up your professor, you can just have them lift up a strong character and kill things, or you can give them a second weapon and kill using the weapon's skills. You can pick any weapon, since you can always upgrade the weapon mastery rating in chara world. If you want to teach the professor spells, I recommend using the skill training squad once it's unlocked. Until then, a weapon should suffice.

I see a lot of people starting threads saying that they're having trouble leveling their support units. Just throw them in the exp squad. Problem more or less solved.

Another squad that does really well for support units is the Home Security one (the one that says N.E.E.T. on the icon). It lowers that character's base stats by quite a bit, but they get a portion of all exp and mana from every single kill. You can also give them 1 rank in Clergy (the male healer) for the Healing Hands evility, which doubles exp gained from healing magic.

just make other character grind for shards and capture enemies for magic extract.
use the shards and magic extract to all your support characters. when you have high enough stats revisits some netherworlds.. use all ur support characters to level up their skills. it will take a while but its worth it, to get stronger support characters
