Is there a mentor system like Disgaea 2?

In the second game when you recruited members, you chose a mentor. The mentor was able to learn all of the skills that the new recruit was able to use. Is there a similar system in this game?

Kinda. There's a squad that allows the members to learn the skills of the leader.

The relevant squad is a bit different from previous games, but still covers the core mechanics. You assign a Leader to it, and every member of the squad is able to use any generic spells the Leader has, like Tera Star, Omega Heal, Espoir... Use them enough to gain a skill level, and that character will have that skill forever.

In fact, is way more simple than Disgaea 2, where you had to plan who recruited who. Here, as you recruit people with money, and not with mana, no one is their mentor. Which means that you can use skill squad and let anyone be anyone's mentor.
