So what's actually missing?
So I'm reading that a few features from previous editions are missing, namely the "Money Map", the Network features, and something else? I don't really care if the sprites are at a "low resolution", that's not really my concern at the moment (especially considering no one can seem to agree on it).

Did they leave anything else out? Can the art book be accessed? Is all the DLC ready and available? Is everything else "as it was"?

Also, most importantly, is it possible to add in mods? I'd like to recruit and use Adell, but I'd rather not have 3 cruddy clips, one of which just sounds like he's vomiting.

For reference, I consulted with a friend over the features and watched them play a lot, played a bunch of other Disgaea games, tl;dr what am I missing in this port?

There's nothing wrong with the sprites.

What was removed was the ability to make and share your own maps.

Make maps, play your own maps, upload your own maps, have others play them, share maps, give others items, etc
I find it personally just extremely ridiculous that they didn't implement this because it wouldn't be that hard to have a bloody PC connect to a server somewhere.

As for mods, they were possible with the old demo (that we patched into the full game), so far i've seen reports that indicate that they changed the file encryption and compression, will renders all our tools useless and I am not gonna bother to acknowledge this new version since absolutely nothing improved since the demo from May

They basically removed all online features.

• Ability to see other people's play stats
• Ability to upload / share / play / create online custom maps at all. You can't even make your own locally.
• Ability for other user's stuff to appear in the news ticker. I honestly never noticed this feature in the PS4 or Switch versions
• Ability to send items to other players

If all you wanted was the single player + post game experience this will do you fine. Personally I never used the custom maps at all - but it's really kind of crappy of NISA to just not include online features and never tell anyone.

I don't know what any of these are or do, though, man. :/

Oh. Frankly I don't think I'd have people on my Friends List to do that with anyway? But thank you for telling me what's up. I think I'll stick with my purchase for now.
