Controller vs. Keyboard + mouse?
I have not played any Disgaea games on pc. What can I expect as far as keyboard support? Will it feel natural, or just functional? Strategy games on pc tend to be best with KB+M. Did the demo play well like that? If not, I will stick with a controller.

I usually tell people that although KB+M is functional you'll get a far more smoother experience if you play it with a controller. Although you can undo everything to a great extent in disgaea and it is a turn based game you can expect to misclick seeing as the "board" makes it a tight fit.

Though I do give NISA kudo's for how they implemented KB+M support and should my own controller break I have no doubt their implementation would still allow me to play disgaea quite effectively, albeit maybe a bit odd.

Then again; what do you expect from a game that was made for consoles....I don't see manypeople playing their PS4 with KB+M ;)

It works fine imo. Pretty standard home key positions and you can remap everything. There's even a few extra buttons if you go that route like shortcut key to Execute/End Turn. I wouldn't use a mouse, tbh.

Quite honestly, I tried both in previous installments on steam, dunno how it will work out on Disgaea 5 if it will be any smoother, but in disgaea 1 and 2, with mouse + keyboard it felt kinda strange since I ended up misclicking a lot of times spaces that I didn't want to throw a unit or move aswell, with the controller it felt more accurate to me, but hey, this is my opinion and experience it differs from player to player :)

I like to play Disgaea games with just a keyboard and no mouse, personally.

My experiences is that, this game has native dualshock 4 support (you can turn all steam wrappers/emulators off), and it works fantastic. Far better than kb+m. Play it the way it's meant to be played is what I say.
