If u already own a switch why not

Yes. If switch +joycon is yours. Bargain.

DLC are 0.000001% part of the game.

Recommendation: (i'd buy monster hunter world or save money up for generations ultimate)

Downloading the game right now, i'll refund the pc version and grab some games here

Does Switch play gameboy games? Then buy a Switch. But then again even the portable game library is starting to suck.

Oh you are talking about getting Disgaea 5 not that trash company Nintendo. Get it on Playstation 4 if you have money to throw away.
Did the same, refunded it on steam and got it on switch. Playing D5 on the go is godsend if you're commuting a lot

Disgaea 5 on switch is the best version of Disgaea 5. I just wish they had added the touchscreen controls for menu scrolling that they had on the vita ports of 3 and 4. NIS in general has been a story of declining quality lately, that includes their ports. Less effort goes into them. The switch port of D5 was their big bank on making some good money, and while not as good a port as D3 and D4, it still has the insane upsides of portability, flexibility, and playing using joycons.

I cannot tell you how extremely pleasurable it is to pop the switch into the dock, lay down facing the tv with both arms splayed out at your sides, and play the game. I would take laying down completely relaxed over being hunched forward in a desk chair anchored to a machine both figuratively and literally if you're using a usb controller. Not to mention you can keep playing if you have to catch a bus or take a dump. The battery consumption of Disgaea 5 is one of the best on the system. You get something like 5 and a half hours in airplane mode.

TL;DR Buy the portable version. They are always the best versions. Why buy a game that runs the same or better on a portable system for a PC? It makes no sense.

Yeah, good argument. You really destroyed all of my arguments and explanations expanding that premise.

I don't need to, this is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam version forum, stop advertising other versions, how bloody stupid are you?
ChunkyButternut Jun 26, 2018 @ 7:48am
Stupid? The OP's question is "Should I get Disgaea 5 on the Switch?"

I'm offering my informed opinions and experiences having played thousands of hours of Disgaea on almost every platform the game has been published on. Sure, maybe I'm stupid for not having a conclusion that is in line with your feelings, but at least I'm not a proverbial Helen Keller: So blind as to miss the topic while spouting deaf liped gutteral noises and insults.

All because I added to the discussion. Wah'eddy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wah. You replied to this topic, and had I not been here to cushion OP you probably would have attacked them for even asking the question in the first place. How do I know this? Because you searched this out. I know you did

I get it, you bought this version and have to defend your purchase in light of all of the recent problems. But know this: both versions go to the same wallet, so yah got no case bruv. Either way it's literally the same game, just different ways to interface with it. You just got the less agile one.

I'll add another TL;DR just because I think you're literally braindead: I don't care, you have no authority. Cry some more.
Shakuras Jun 26, 2018 @ 10:46am
tis but a matter of what you're searching, OP.

Switch version offer :
- lower price
- portability

PC version ( will ) offer :
- Higher price ( assuming you go the legit way )
- fan made mod like translation fixes , rasetsu mod, innocent mod, music mod.... and problably some more mod i'm not aware of.

If you search something to play at home, PC version is the way to go since it will offer more.
If you search a time burner for when you're commuting in bus/train/metro, the switch version is what you need.

I use wireless controllers on PC and a big HDMI cable to play on my TV/home theater setup laying down on my couch.

It's PC gaming, you can do ANYTHING with it, play it on your TV/couch,and even stream to a portable device if you so desire. It's your own lack of effort or investment if you are limiting your PC gaming to hunching forward on a desk.
ChunkyButternut Jun 26, 2018 @ 9:19pm
Lack of investment or effort, lol. No. It's lack of furnature where my computer is / Lack of options when I bought the controller. But yes, you're right. That sounds like it could work for you. Who knows, if it outputs to 4k or ultrawide resolutions you might even get a marginally better experience. For me the portability still wins out. Not to mention the availability. If you get this game now instead of later and on a portable system you will play it more, because there will be more opportunity to. There's no denying that much.

I'm going to Idaho next week by plane. Guess what I"ll be doing for the 2 hour flight?
Steel Jun 26, 2018 @ 9:55pm
Yeah the true portability is great, but that also depends on your circumstances, some people just don't have that much free time outside their home, short commutes, etc.

But don't forget PC has mods. Switch and PC version both have advantages, but I'd avoid the PS4 one for sure. Have to buy the overpriced DLC separately, no portability, no mods.
shadowrun4ever Jun 27, 2018 @ 6:50am
Well.. not every Steam games have MODS !!
that's the problem.... but yeah, I agree with you : PC is most versatile platform... which is a good thing !
