Is there a way to make permanent mistakes?
Like stuff you can't change later on? In Disgaea 1 and 2 there's no way to do such things, which I really like!

Im having a hard time understanding what our trying to say. You play through the game and at the end you enter the post game. there is a NPC in the post game that will let you start over and you keep everything.

I think not, the last I have played was D2 and there is no way to make a permanent mistake. There is such things like routes I think, but you can start a newgame+.
no, there is no way to make mistakes and no missables. if your team is at any point, not strong enough, or you want a complete overhaul, you can access every previous maps + the item world at any time and make a new one.

on certain boss chapters its possible to lose and get a unique ending, at which point you can simply reload your save and retry or begin new game+ and restart from the beginning at that point.

there's also a few endings related to ally deaths, and if you have too many you will be able to access those endings, but afaik they never cut you off from the rest or the true ending unlike some earlier games (looking at you, 1)

There is way to make permanent mistake, but it needs to be done very deliberate. Get highest level enemies and highest level shop. Delete all gear and ml. Reincarnate everybody. You will have no mana to lower difficulty and no place where to get levels. But getting stuck like that is no accident and easily avoided with multiple save files.

There are still maps you can win with lvl 1 character that require 0 mana just by throwing XD

How did you manage to do that?

Good that there are no missables or ways to screw a character/save file. I was doing some research and found about growth. I imagine it makes no difference if I don't use it at first, since the only thing it will do is cut down the time I burn to get to 10m stats. Is that correct?
there is several missable endings, just like in previous games.

Missable means that there's something you cannot get after a certain point. There's no such thing in D5. Even if you pass by a possible ending, you can just start a new cycle and get it.
there is. there is multiple missable endings.getting them after they have been missed involves starting over. that involves either starting a fresh game or completing the game for new game plus.

Yeah, like I said, just start a new cycle and go through the story missions again until you reach the part with the possible ending. It takes like 15 minutes tops with a moderately strong Sage.
that involves completing the game first and that takes weeks.

In Disgaea 2 there is a mistake that will cost you 10 hours+ to remedy, but it is not a permanent damage. That is getting a non legendary Megichange Scroll in the Trial.

To remedy this, you must find a legendary one at a random Animal Pirate encounter, which is very very very rare, rarer than getting multiple SSR in a row in a gacha heavy P2W mobile games.

Actually you can just use a common one and level it to level 160 and it will have the same effect with the legendary one in magichanging equipped monster, but to register the legendary one at the Dark Record is another thing...

Like they said, if it's a 2nd or Nth cycle, it shouldn't take you long to get to the point of the story where you can get a particular ending of your choosing. Especailly if you skip cutscenes, attack animations, and throw your strongest characters at the problem. Definitely not 'weeks'. I mean, just beating the main story from scratch won't take you weeks unless you take it very slow, or really don't play much per day.
