Game won't run on Windows 10 (64 bit)?
I don't want to leave a negative review, but I'm hoping potential buyers check the forums -- I've tried everything on here, Wadjet Eye's forums, and GoG's troubleshooting game for this guide, but I simply can't get it to run. After two hours trying to figure this out, enough is enough. :P

When I try to run the game nothing happens, except Gemini Rue shows up as a background process in the Task Manager.

I've tried:
- Setting compatibility mode to Windows XP / Vista / 7
- Restricting color to 16-bit / 8 bit
- Putting in extra parameters to run in windowed mode
- Running the setup exe (it also does nothing but shows up as a background process)

If anyone has any ideas I'm happy to try them, but otherwise I'm moving on. My backlog is too bit to spend days trying to sort this out. ;)

I was able to run it in Windows 10 by disabling the full screen mode. I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with your issue, but it's worth a try.

Full screen mode is a big no-no for my computer too with this game.

Sadly I did try that and it still won't load for me :(

Well, I'm glad I didn't check the forums before I bought the game. I'm running Win 10 64-bit and so far Gemini Rue runs fine in full screen. I get some graphical artifacts on loading a save or dying, but those resolve on exiting the location and returning.

I am sadly having the same issue on WIndows 10.

Please read the game product page before you buy! The win10 is not officialy supported. If you don't read the requirements then it's your own fault.

OS: Windows 2000, XP or Vista

@Sillvver: Thanks for your much valued input :|

@To everyone else: A workaround, is to launch the Exe directly from the installation folder. I played the whole game on Windows 10 recently.

@Sillvver

I don't disagree, but at the time I bought this nearly no older games were claiming compatability with Windows 10 yet (and many still don't but work fine). This wasn't meant as a complaint so much as to share with others that yes, I tried it, and had issues -- and hope that someone had found a work around they could share other than those I listed.

@Saftle

I think I tried this, but will do so again -- after tons of Windows updates something might have changed as well. Thanks!

@janjamoja

In case it helps, I added a screenshot of my winsetup.exe settings. Maybe that's why it worked.

Game works in Win 10_64 on my 4k screen with the following settings:

The result is an image the size of approximately 80% of my 42'' screen with black borders all around.
