How to quickly set storage limits?
Can I cahnge it in steps of 100 or 1000 somehow?
Or how do I type in the exact number I want?
Or how do I copy a number from one resouce to another?
Maybe copy setting from one storage to another entirely?

How do I avoid the storage filling up with a few kinds of resources and then not having room for others?

it will just overstocked to other storage buildings (landing sites, ports, etc) and to any buildings sometimes. the best solution is of course to use them up by terraforming mars asap, imho. if you try to rush the game by heavily populating the planet, your resource will be low in one way or the other.

i tried to use to storage by setting the limits. it didn't work. so i simply put them as one of the basic buildings around hyperloop towers. before that, i don't bother building them.

The problem with overstocking is that you'll end up with much more of a few resources and very few of others. And if those rarer resources is consistently taken from a storage (instead of where it's produced), then you'll gonna end up having only a few abundant resources stocked.

Proper storage settings can also help evenly distribute resources between storages, and by extension throughout your network, so it's ready to use without waiting for long transports. Otherwise you end up having aluminium only in the storage near the aluminium mines.

And you can't really choose what kind of resources you gonna need for a certain kind of building, so you can't just use up the resource you have lots of. The only option I found so far is Steel vs Glass when it comes to the basic Wind vs Solar generators. I always end up with way more mechanical parts and polymers than I need, and no reasonable expansion is gonna use them up.

But I also noticed that if I set up storage limits, then I can only see 4-5 resources at a time on the UI. And if I switch back to the compact view of that storage, then the limits are not respected.
I don't know why the devs even bothered adding storage limits in this form, where it's so difficult to use, and it makes the UI contain much less information at a glance, that it might as well not be a feature.

micro resource is futile. just set up better logistics and have hyperloop network well setup so that you can deliver enough resources from far far away.
try the hyperloop+lots of workerhub solution, i'll be less worried about the stupid storage system. also, landing sites and their upgrade forms are far better alternative to the storage.
