Better way to manage buildings?
I'm finding it very difficult and tedious managing my buildings. Like is there no way to group select certain types of buildings to manage them as whole? Seems the game is really lacking the ability to group manage anything. Am I missing something?

There is a building manager. Although not ideal it does allow you to see and sort buildings in a list with various options.

If you click on the building number (bottom left) it will bring it up.

Thanks I'll check that out. I'm having a hell of a time getting resources going to certain buildings right now, even when I have a resource 100% allocated to that buildings task (Parts manufacturing).

Are your worker drones maxed? Sounds like a transportation problem.

My drones all started dying and my worker factories aren't getting resources delivered to them. I've even prioritized all the specific resources to all go towards worker drone manufacturing. I was hit by the hostile AI (Carmine?) and that messed up my entire pipeline and now I think I'm in a cascade failure.

There is a learning curve but it can be overcome. I deliberately tested this. Out of 154 workers I had 12. Then I changed things and got it back going. Without the workers you don't deliver polymers/ electronics so no repairs. Without repairs you produce at a much slower rate.

If you restart you should prepare for this event with maxed worker / maintenance drones and 40 min polymers and electronics in stock - twice that preferably. Then your production should take care of the rest after the "event".

But if you want to save it, adjust the resource allocation of whatever you need in the chain to produce workers - so look at what you are short of. This will ensure that when a good is available that is required, the transportation of it to the facility will be at a higher priority. Steel is a common one as its needed for parts but also construction of most things - so turn off the power to any building in construction that is not in this chain.

If you have roads in build you are kinda screwed until they are finished as all your steel is going there (with limited transportation). But as workers are in demand turn off priority of anything that is not in the chain save for maintenance buildings.

Prioritising buildings also means they now get repaired first (or it should) but you only want the ones that are required for the chain to work well so be ruthless if you have to until you see the drone factory start to get a surplus stock. Then work on which buildings you want repaired first with priorities.

Also remember that as your drones are overworked, there is a delay in reaction to changes as they still have a huge job list to work through.

Good Luck

Yeah I had a bunch of roads queued for upgrade when the event hit and there's no way I can tell for how to cancel those upgrades.

You can't manually stop road construction. Atm it appears to be set at the highest priority and you can't change that. You can drop a building in between to destroy the existing road and then delete once the road has gone and the road will redraw with no upgrade. It'll cost you time and maybe some construction cost but it will free up the drones until you recover.

That's an unfortunate oversight. Either way I had to restart because all my drones died before I was able to fix the pipeline. I'm currently trying to understand worker hub placement better and will start the campaign over soon.
