There is a sandbox mode that does not include the story campaign and allows you to choose the location of your first landing site as well.
As I said, if it were a REAL AI that was experiencing the world as you played the game, it would be much more realistic since, the things it said would not be exactly the same in each game. If you've played the campaign once and decide to restart, the same scripted lines get old and boring. If you've made a few mistakes and had to restart a few times, it starts to get annoying and that's when turning it off would be an option.
"Time to start pumping greenhouse gases, how hard could it be humans did it on earth..."
passive aggressive twit.
There's a lot of fluff dialogue that I could really do without.
I don't hate it all, because it gives context to the game, and in the beginning it's not quite so bad, especially as you're not doing as much in the early stages... but once things start to get going, I've complained aloud that they just talk so damn much.
