Underwater research facilities?
I believe you should include underwater research facilities, as terraforming results in the inability to explore many sites (in my case Opportunity site went underwater before I could research it).
They should also be auto-sufficient in terms of energy/food/water as you can not reach those sites with energy & supply lines

Underwater everything would be good really, maybe another research which lets you build on water? Workes already ignore water if the paths leads through it, I wouldn't really bother about visuals (making them turn into boats) at this point, just make sure the water is transparent enough to see everything properly.

swimming worker drones... drill plattforms for mining... and submarine research bases...

Water shouldn't even be an issue. Maybe slowing workspeed, or at worst requiring an upgrade to continue working in water.

Because there is so much rng involved in resources, and few alternative paths in the resource tree, there isn't much way to adapt to this, shy of new-lander cheese.

We plan to continue working on the game for a very long time to come. Right now we're focused on improving a number of critical issues being reported... but that after, we have some very exciting things in store! You've posted some great ideas here. Thank you so much.

This would be the best way to do it, let us still build in those submerged research and resource nodes but have to research into the tech that lets us use floating platforms for energy and repairs and have submersible worker drones.
expanding on this concept of a water based research branch.. perhpahs a way to extract water from the new martian sea? It was the first thought I had when the seas started showing up in game, mostly due to haveing a bit of a water shortage at the time. water everywhere, and not a drop to use.

I just hit a point in my game where I'm right by an ocean and yet there are no water resources "ironically" left above water. (About 4 of them got submerged.)
I would love to be able to harvest water from the ocean.

i enjoy this game so far but i wish you would add airborne worker stations to the game who can reach farther then normal relais
maybe even a tech tree that improve range and durability of buildings , workers and maybe even some new buildings like harbors on the coast line to reach submerged ressource nodes

I'm very glad to hear it. It feels like there is a lot of room for growth.
Would love to see more information on post release plans, e.g. features that will definitely be added over the coming months.

Honestly the lack of being able to harvest water from the new ocean kinda broke the game immersion for me.

Our first content update just released today! It has a lot of new features and fixes, but one of them is a Water Treatment building that allows you to harvest water from the ocean.
