Some trouble moving Colonists to the Huolong Silo
I'm a few hours into the game and was tasked with exploring the Huolong Missile Silo. It's quite a bit of distance away from where you start the game, so I set up a separate base to take care of the research colony you place atop the Missile Silo.

It resulted in this situation, where I have an Eastern Main Base and a smaller Western one, dedicated to the Missile Silo:

Which I hope is what a player is supposed to do.

My Main base has a lvl 2 Colony with 239/250 colonists, and the earlier found Huolong site is also present within the south of my Main base, containing 12/50 colonists.

The problem now, is that my colony build atop the Missile Silo at the Western base is a 0/50 colonists and none are willing to move there. I've set my Special Projects up into accepting more colonists, but none depart from the shuttle whenever it arrives, and certainly none of them are willing to move into the smaller Western Base.

All my research colonies are richly supplied with a stockpile of food, but efficiency is never quite at 100% (stupid drones?), and it seems the game is capping me from taking on more.

I eventually fixed this by shutting down the lvl2 colony at my Main Base and forcing colonists to move from it to the Missile Colony at the Western one, but I'm not sure I'm supposed to do that.

How the heck do you get your people to spread out evenly. Also, if you have more than enough food/water, how do you reach 100% effectiveness?

Just unlocked Hyperloops. REALLY looking forward to my infrastructure being more effective.

Do you have food and water stockpiled on the Huolong silo research center? If it doesn't have a stockpile, researchers won't move into it. Also, keep asking for immigrant while doing it. it may be that everyone already has a job/place to work so no one would move. Increasing priority of the center might help.

Hey Gnosis! So nice of you to join us, despite the combat and your proclamation that you wanted to see before you bought. :steamhappy: Guess neither of us held out long. ;-)

Yes, I posted a few more pictures a few seconds later. The site does have everything it needs. It is stockpiled with Food/Water:

Also, people are happy to move there if I force them out of other buildings, which goes to show the site is acceptable to them. They're just not willing to move there from the shuttles. I have to do it manually. :(

Well, the game is deceptively hard, and has depth. I've been playing this with a friend in lockdown. Not bought it yet - but had fun so far.

No people will not move if they have a place already. You need to import more if just to get 50 more.

Well:

I am importing. 5 of these shuttles and several years later though and none are getting off to inhabit the Silo Colony. I mean, you can see I managed to fill up my other colonies, just not that one.

I mean, I could make you a video where I can show you the shuttle landing and no colonists getting off to inhabit that site, but you get the jest of it.

It's broken. Unless I force people to move manually, the spaceport simply won't bring any new colonists for the Western Expansion.

i see you have 251/350, so you have other places where you are missing colonists.

You do have 100 spare food and water, but check inside the specific research stations. You are missing 100 pops to capacity alright. And if it's bugged try relaunching the game. You know this title got released yesterday!!

I've been toying with running a line of worker hubs/wind turbines over to the site. But, it drops the option of opening the area to a second landing site in the same time frame. It does HEAVILY point you at the second landing site option. Second landing site is the better option imo but it's a bummer if it's broken. Maybe directing colonists is an option that needs adding.

No, building extra landing sites for this is wrong.

I've gone through the game's stats and I spotted this:

https://i.imgur.com/5euJ2mF.png

Apparently, the game IS capping me in some ways. I have enough housing for 350 people, but the game says there's a "capacity limit" of 250 and a "Housing Limit" of 250 colonists.

And indeed, I have 250 (+2 somehow) colonists. No more are coming off the shuttle because of this Cap apparently. And yes, closing down some of my other colonies moves them around.

Weird. I don't know why the game is capping me at 250 or where this limit comes from. Maybe it's story related and I'm not supposed to have as many scientists or housing as I currently do. Maybe terraforming raises the limit?

D^oh!

Just like there's a building cap that's raised by researching levels of engineering, apparently the same goes for colonists:

I was capped! Just needed to figure out how to raise that cap.

Oh, I understand the problem now! Thank you for attaching a screenshot and sorry for the delay. You have enough buildings and housing to support up to 350 colonists, but the total number of allowed colonists is 250. You can increase the total number of colonists allowed by researching the bottom row of the Biotech tree. For example, Biotech 1 increases the colonist limit by an addition 750 people.

Yarp! See post above yours. :steamhappy: Just figured it out myself. Thanks for checking in though Spite Sprite. :)

Another thing that was not communicated by the gorgeous UI!

Had the same issue. Maybe a voice line, or some sort of 'boop' when you hit building/colonist cap for the first time?

I'm having a related problem: When I had researched dome colonies, I built two of them which could easily house my non-research lab population up to that point. I scrapped the old colonies (because they are less efficient (and supposedly less comfortable to the colonists) fully expecting them to take their nice airships and move. They did not, instead they completely disappeared! Next I tried to shut down the old colonies first and wait some time for them to move, but still, they disappeared after I tore down the colonies. How do I get them to move to a new, nicer home?
