win8.1 U.S. English version
There seems to be two different error messages I get when the game crashes - sometimes I get one, sometimes another. The second seems more common:

They mainly seem to occur when I'm using the Backlog, and it makes no difference how much or little Backlog there is at that point. The large circular animation revolving in the Backlog background seems to lag at that time, too.
My comp details:
Windows 7 Ultimate
Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz
4 GB RAM
64-bit OS
nVIDIA GeForce 405
Update: This problem appears to have been addressed and solved by the devs - thank you! (Not sure I needed all 17 million terabytes of space, though, lol! Screenshot![gyazo.com])
Another player helped me with a workaround for this problem, so I'm reporting it here purely so you, (the devs) can check to see if there's a bug in the programming related to save files.
Problem details: I was able to make game saves in slots 1-46 and also slot 120, but once those were full, the only way to save the game was to overwrite existing save files. After a while, this, too, stopped working, and I was unable to save the game in anything but the quicksave slots.
I've had no trouble making saves for this (or any other Steam game) until now.
These are the steps I've tried to fix the problem, and none of them have worked:
1) Rebooted my computer;
2) Checked that I do, in fact, have sufficient disk space - 858 GB, to be precise;
3) Looked to see if there are any update files currently downloading - no there aren't;
4) Cleared my Steam download cache (just in case);
5) Verified the integrity of the game;
6) Run a CHKDSK scan on my computer to make sure there weren't any file errors or bad sectors - scan came up clean;
7) Repaired Library folders - this literally took about a second, so I hope it worked correctly!
8) Uninstalled and re-installed the game.
It might also be worth noting that I've never installed Steam games to a different drive or computer.
Steam user donzibod replied to my post with:
This workaround only works if you uncheck the "Synchronise with the Steam Cloud" boxes, because otherwise, the moment you launch Alternative, all the original Muv-Luv save files are restored.
I assume that we are supposed to be able to use all 120 save slots in both games if we wish, so it does seem as though there's a bug somewhere. Also, and I may be wrong on this, but does saving over previously filled save slots actually increase the amount of allocated space used?
Anyway, I'd be grateful if you checked this matter out. Thanks in advance.
[System details same as above post]
Same here, currently unplayable. Running the EXE directly exhibits similar behavior; the cursor shows a loading symbol and then nothing, no error or alert of any kind. I've installed VC++2015, verified file integrity, deleted and reinstalled. Muv Luv works fine, but I've had no luck with Alternative so far.
I'm running Windows 10
EDIT: Since the only file modified since that last version is alternative16.rio.ruo1, that seems to be what the problem is.
