Great classic, but horrible server. Steer clear.

This is a private server of the game that somehow made its way to steam. Server owner is extremely unprofessional and unreliable. Calls himself "god" in the game -- just let that sink in.

Run by Tegra, he uses "donate now for experience boosts" to provide a society gap. Got banned from community hub for calling Tegra out on his questionable ethics. Since he is trying to cover it up instead of denying it.

Update 9/19/2018: I looked through the troubles people were having with this server based on reviews, and the following was said "Tegra calls himself a god" (It was summarized that he's arrogant and has a god-complex which he absolutely does, Luxly his staffer probably does too.) People have had problems with the server running extremely slower compared to barebones astonia 3, which it runs at about 1/3 the speed with the same population. This is not due to the player, this is due to Tegra running on a server that can't handle the population . The community is absolutely the worst. People will meme on you and anger you off until you ragequit. If you try to be nice they will punish you for it. Tegra will also defend those who kneel down and pay him off for favoritism in the form of donor status. Those who refuse to will be banned for not worshipping the egomaniac.

Overall: Play it, if you like such things, cant judge you, not everyone was born with good taste.

Cool little game that reminds me of a low spec Dark souls (just as frustrating), can't see anything but absolute darkness 80% of the time, I have no idea what the monsters i'm training on look like yet. Not sure if i'm leveling up my skills or how to use skills, trade, equip or drop items, start/finish quests, have yet to find a menu or settings to see if I can turn up the brightness or check controls. I think there's like a day and night system going on, no tutorial unless I accidentally skipped it, I just keep dying in darkness but having fun at the moment. struggle fkcing my way to level 5.

The one area that is actually well lit only contains monsters that give 2 exp which is pretty much useless at this point but I might just stay there and grind slowly if I get fed up with the caves, just to get out of the darkness.

Also not able to change your appearence other than being male or female bothers me. Looks like some classes get light sources later on in the game. I suggest making a warrior at first because nothing drops mage gear in the start. There's been multiple times where i've been stuck in a dark dungeon for over 30 minutes and couldn't find a mob to kill me to get me out. Only started off with one teleport to home unless the option is hidden somewhere in the UI.

Took me about 5 hours to get to level 4. The exp rate really isn't that horrible compared to some other games i've played. It's just the lack of knowing where the monsters are in a pitch black cave , you can hold down shift and see doorways which is how I find other monsters. Starting to memorize the dungeons from trial and error now. Some of the commands are text activated, good luck figuring out which ones though.

From my experience noobs will help you out as they're struggling as well but higher level players will just troll you. I'll keep playing until I hit level 10. Currently level 4 almost level 5.

Looks like the staff is working on the Wiki so this might become easier to play in the future. If there was a map I wouldn't have to memorize every dungeon.

Well, the game looks nice, seems to play ok, but it has a few glaring issues,

#1 the resoulution is terrible

#2 I'm normally one for shrinking the UI and text as much as I can, but this game needs the opposite

#3 the sound effects are more annoying then old Atari sounds

#4 account/character creation was confusing

#5 there is absolutely no guidence, or tutorial at all

I can't recomend the game for a modern system, as you'll have a hard time even reading the screen, let alone playing, as long as it's free to play though, doesen't hurt to try it.

Have gotta say. Love the game. Brings bad good ol' memories.

The main owner of this calls himself "GOD" and is a true jerk.
You might want to stay clear if you know whats good for you!
Find a different server.

took me alittle while to get into the game, once i'm in, well, let's just say i felt like im back to 90s

If you wanna play a game as if it was made in the 1940s this is the game for you.
