Set protagonist?

So in the recent video the dev talks about the character you play as and there is no set protagonist nor a character creation.
I am fine with this since I like to head canon characters but latter in the video, they talk about findings clues about who could you be and the cover of the game is a guy. So is there a set protagonist or not?

I believe that the guy on the box is just that, a guy on the box. It's been proven that a white male protagonist sells better than not, hence why BioShock Infinite has Booker on the cover despite the main focus being on Elizabeth.

As for the clues, they also said you can ignore them, and because the specific words used when describing the player (no specific age, race, or gender), I think that any clues will simply be things the protagonist might have done in the past, not specifically anything about their appearance.

So, after the game's release, is it clearer now? Are there any clues that hint at a male protagonist, or is the game deliberately vague to leave it up to the player to decide?

No. You are a nameless, faceless character that doesn't make any vocal ques of any sort. Your are whoever you think he or she is.

yeah, you won't speak, you won't have a name, you will only see your legs/foot if you look down. That's about it. Nothing revolves around the player character, no story at all. You won't learn anything about your character.
