Also the LMG and Enfield are great too.
No need for cheats, but each to their own. Inifinite ammo is sort of turning it into a tourist mode.
I'm old, I never got tense playing this one. But as I mentioned, each to their own
Yep, I drop to shotty for the Ferals, or go nuts melee (though I never have gotten round to making a "melee build" from skills, so could be easier, other than the kick stun duration).
I like the fact you can pick what you like, not just min-max (and there are always small drawbacks, like JM needing a little more recoil control or controlled firing for single shots).
Pretty neat for a game not totally focused on the combat.
I don't use guns for most situations preferring to sneak up from behind and take-downs, except for the castle with what seems like endless druids coming out of the walls and of course ferals and robots in the interchange. Combat isn't rewarded in any way in Atomfall, so better to avoid it where possible
Getting trounced by a few ferals at once is definitely a struggle to control, especially if one is ranged and spitting. I often forget to use the damage resist and combat + which further increase your effectiveness; very much force you to "think ahead" (tips on death mention this. Those tips on death are specific and very useful overall).
I will have to focus on the JM more as so far only really used on first playthrough (and for some reason during this 3rd ending play I came across the LMG and Sten for first time, but now can't seem to find the Enfield rifle which had used before).
