The core game is super fun but it so much lacks in its design
I am really enjoying the actual gameplay of Atomfall, its exploration, even its gunfight.
I have played for 10~ hours and I really enjoyed my time, I have explored the first and Skethermoor areas and the village, done all of the clues.

But. Everything just points into the interchange and what do you need to do there? Collect some battaries, open doors and finita la commedia, the game is done?

I feel like they tried hard with the survival and the gameplay parts but it so much lacks in content. To some extent that you are asking yourself, why did I bother upgrading and exploring everyhing in 10 hours when I could finish the game in about 5?

Well if you are 10 hours in and haven't been to the Interchange yet (first thing I did on my first play) there is plenty for you to put together.

There is a possibility you have not worked out the game yet, in a way.

I'm curious as to what you think "upgraded/explored it all" means in this game, since how would you know you have not missed a ton since not a huge amount is marked.

Then there is the fact you have x amount of endings and how you can achieve these individually (not together) by following the leads sensibly.

And then the way you can tackle the game in many different ways (low combat, high combat, stealth, being nice, being nasty etc etc), which also can tie in with the training supplement "skills".

From your description:

"But. Everything just points into the interchange and what do you need to do there? Collect some battaries, open doors and finita la comedia, the game is done?"

There is a lot you might have missed and no that is not that simple to complete (in terms of things you might need to complete/do to get through to an ending).

I found the game odd at first but now see what it is achieving, and it does feel pretty well done overall.

Best of luck o7

From the information I gathered, interchange is a section where you activate doors with batteries you find on the surface and continue towards one of the endings.

I did free the woman from prison that can possibly provide additional ending.

I just fear that if I enter the interchange it will be 2 hours and I am done with the game (get some sort of ending).

I am planning to explore the druids area next.

About your question, I meant that I upgraded most of my weapons, explored first area, village and Skethermoor and did all of their "leads". (My leads section is empty except the ones that point straight to the interchange).

I may be mistaken here and I am only guessing, if you can correct me if I am wrong and I would be happy to hear if I have another 10 hours to sink into this game.

Not quite. You'll find out the more as you explore the interchange. Getting the interchange powered up is the goal at first, but thats not the entire plot point of the game.

I think it is best not to treat "leads" like conventional "quests" for progress (You will notice this more if you restart for a few different endings). One single run does not involve all quests/leads (as I say, many ways to get through the game).

In theory playthroughs will be quite short (and every time you play through you will gain more experience on how to be more efficient) and that is how they have set it up (but with the ability to do multiple endings using specific save points).

So the method of play you have taken (I did the same at first, comparing it to other games, but changed how I approached it not too far in to its betterment; exploration, getting missions "done") possibly sends you around the game the "wrong" way and why you have found yourself where you are.

Interchange is not quite what you think (in terms of point in the "story"), as I said I was in there immediately by following the leads I uncovered in Slattersdale (probably same ones as you at the start, but I just focused on a different lead). If anything it made me understand how to go about the game and what it is all about (stopping me from abandoning the game pre-maturely).

Don't play it like a check list (I sort of have a habit of doing this in certain games) and the game's own way of doing things makes more sense. I initially was off this game, but seeing a mate push through quicker (via his achieves) I kept pushing until I started playing the game "better".

Getting into the mindset that Atomfall is Atomfall and not really copying/competing with other "similar" games helps I think (I have no reason to think this was like Stalker or Fallout or... Elden Ring?!, as I have seen others state).
Every one offering an escape is an assh*le, except Holden when/if you find him, he just wants Oberon dead, the doctor wants a piece of Oberon she can take with her before you destroy all research and Oberon, Turner is a Russian spy who wants the research and promptly betrays you, Sims intends to escape then have the RAF nuke the entire area killing everything, and yes even his own soldiers, and Mother Jago wants to release Oberon into the world. They are all self obsessed nutters, who don't seem to have learnt anything from the disaster area that is Atomfall. The best option is to kill them all except holden and poison Oberon, but that's just my opinion lol. Enjoy
