Put battery into robot. How?

One of the Cheevos is to put a battery into a robot. How do you do this. The only option that comes up is search robot. I stand behind the robot with a battery in my inventory, but I don't know how to put it into the robot.

Search robot, press "i" for your own inventory, put atomic battery in robot's inventory.

However, I could not get this achievement to work for the robot at the dam. Not sure if that is a bug or something else.

I just put a battery back into a robot in Robotics, and he came back to life, but the achievement didn't drop either. This did make me wonder, though. Can you use that system to store a bunch of items in a robot, and come back and get them later?

I had to reactivate a robot I had just forced to overheat and removed the battery from to get the achievement to pop. I couldn't get it by going around the ones I had already disabled and replacing the battery. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but I did it inside the Oberon area during endgame.

That ended up working for me. When I pulled a battery out of a robot, and then put the same battery back in him right away, the cheevo dropped.
