There's no real quest markers in this game.
Explore, talk to NPCs, read notes, follow leads, look at landmark locations that get marked on your map.
The game requires that you put in some effort to figure things out on your own, but it's never super difficult to do so. And the world isn't so big that you'll ever really feel lost.
Just keep playing and you'll find the interchange, probably sooner rather than later.
okay i've been messing around for an hour dying and getting nowhere lol
Do you have weapons?
Okay good to know I thought I missed something crucial, I'll adjust
I'll give you a couple more tips.
You can die quickly, but so can enemies. Humans can generally die with one bullet to the head.
Stealth is useful in certain scenarios but unless you are "Hidden" in tall grass it's usefulness is pretty limited in my experience.
There's no experience points. You find skill books hidden around the world, and sometimes from traders. Skill books unlock the skill in the menu. From there you need to find training stimulants, which act as skill points, which are also hidden around the world in B.A.R.D. crates and also these tiny cases you can find on shelves and desks. You also find crafting recipes around the map and from traders.
And unless you are in an area where you are "Trespassing" most of the time you can walk past (human) enemies without fighting. As long as you don't get too close to them and don't hang around, they'll just yell stuff at you like "we don't want no bloodshed here."
He could just as easily turn on the Exploration guides and it takes no investigative skill or exploring to find quest objectives. Though admittedly, that would defeat the core focus of the game mechanics.
Honestly I didn't even see that feature and don't know what it does lol
But if it makes finding stuff easier then ya... that does kind of defeat the purpose of the game. Because I feel like exploration and following leads is one of this game's strongest points.
how do i turn on exploration guide? I can't find it
That's not an attempt to be mean. But The game is about exploration and story telling more than anything else.
I’ve been picking up notes left and right and nothing gets circled.
Ill second this.
If the very first exploration, where you basically just walk straight and read notes that are basically right infront of you, is harsh and unintuitive for you, then I suggest hitting the refund button if you still can.
Not gonna get any easier and exploration is the main thing in the game. You either enjoy it, or you will hate the game.
Most things wont get circled.
You have to figure out where to go.
Took me quite a while to understand it myself.
The markings for locations and point of interest on the map are grey! why they choose that color and not some bright color is beyond me. Grey for me means ”not important” but in this game it can be the opposite.
