From what Mack says, the game is great for players who love to explore and don't like hand-holding.
I guess it explains the many "not recommended" reviews: players who are used to casual gaming "conventions" won't like this. To each his own.

I despise Denuvo though, so I'll simply wishlist Atomfall and buy it whenever I'm remembered its existence in a sale in a few years.

The areas are pretty well crafted as far as exploration goes. Passable terrain isn't the best but you get used to it.
