If it doesn't bother you, more power to you. I envy anyone who looks at this game and doesn't notice the flickering.
Not sure, if it's a common enough complaint though then maybe it's just something that you don't personally notice as Jeralt pointed out. Graphically I am really happy with the game outside of this, I just want to move my mouse around without objects in the distance looking all jagged/flickering, it's very distracting and breaks immersion. Inside rooms and stuff there is no issue.
It's poor antialiasing in this game engine that cause that so called "shimmering" when you move around while looking at foliage and various surfaces.
I actually find it looks slightly better with AA set to "High" rather than "Ultra". I get the same with Sniper Elite 5 (including with the Vulkan renderer available in that title) and Sniper Elite Resistance.
Yes I know what you and many others are talking about as I have seen it in other games just not this game. Just don’t assume that others don’t know what you are talking about.
TAA is terrible tho.. the ghosting it courses ooof..
The devs won't release a fix for it, if they were going to implement TAA into their engine it would've been done way before release.
However, it's worth it for this one. It's still there, I can still see it on foliage and stuff if I look closely as I move around, but it's greatly diminished and on the whole, the game looks a lot better. I can't say I don't feel a bit of a performance hit, but it's not grievous. I have a big display, but it's 1920x1080 so it's no big deal to render like that. I run it at 180 Hz, so the "shimmering" was quite noticeable.
It makes that crappy AA more like supersampling quality, in effect.
