Thrall takedowns

I have seen some screenshots of console players being able to perform takedowns on thralls. I am unable to perform a takedown on PC. Is this a bug, or old screenshots later patched and now nobody can do it?

These guys take 20+ pistol rounds/7 arrows (all headshots) to kill and are sometimes positioned in a way that you can't fully sneak by them (such as medical tunnels). Please allow takedowns - even if it doesnt instant kill let it take at least half health.

PC Gamers are enhanced gamers and expected to fight them to the death the old fashioned way.

20+ pistol rounds in the head? Do you fight them with rusty trash weapons? That's stupid. I kill them with 5 headshots from revolver or molotov + 3 head shots. You can also easily beat them with melee with no problem whatsoever.
