im sure there will be mods later to give you infinite inventory or some ♥♥♥♥, there are already 2 mods up https://www.nexusmods.com/games/atomfall ..but not for that..yet.
It's obvious that the game wants you to manage not just loot.
It's just to small though. Even bandages take up an individual slot per bandage. As does cocktails and other items. Nothing stacks aside from actual crafting mats and even those are limited to a single stack of 20.
It's probably why you're finding the inventory too small. As a general rule if you have a recipe for something you don't need to carry one around with you, with the possible exception of stockpiling grenades before a combat. Keep the inventory space for the stuff you can't just make when needed, it tends to be far more valuable.
I'm struggling with having fun with this inventory.
It's not a survival game in any sense what so ever really. I feel they just tacked that tag onto their game as an "excuse" as to why there is so little you can interact with and to cover up their terrible inventory system. Also, to help them defend against all the "Fallout comparisons" since this game is no where near even as deep as Fallout 76 which is the simplest Fallout to date.
There are several single indie devs out there with "survival" games that give you more to interact with.
Tell me, what makes this a "survival" game anyway? The fact it has a couple of food and water items you can loot? They do nothing but heal you lol. There is no hunger system or anything.
The only "survival" aspect imo is the fact you're limited to about 20 bullets.
Now it's not all bad. As stated the atmosphere is pretty great in my opinion. I also think the voice acting is very good. Unfortunately all the actual game play systems are very lacking. The only thing gameplay wise it has going for it imo is the way you have to actually read and figure out where to go to complete quests.
This game would have been much better off as a walking simulator where you figure out where to go like Firewatch. Gameplay wise it's just not good enough and the inventory system is a huge part of it.
