The ability to hold one handed weapons (like a pistol), while holding a torchlight?

I wonder if the fact that it's not possible to have equipped both a torchlight and a one-handed weapon (like a pistol, or a simple bat) at the same time is an intentional choice, or if it is something that could be considered as a feature for a future update?
