Geographical accuracy niggle as I'm stupidly anal about this ;)
So, as someone born and raised in West Cumbria, within 2 miles of Windscale/Sellafield (call it what you will), the location of the plant in the game promotional images seems a tad off. Anyone confirm the general geographical accuracy of locations in the game?

Still going to play it though!

It's *not* a faithful reconstruction of the area AFAIK but it really does have the 'look & feel' of the Lake District. Naturally YMMV and my view is slightly nostalgia-tinted as I haven't stayed/lived in the area for many years.
In one of their recent vids I think they said it was only strongly inspired.

Yeah—I spent a LOT of time in Seascale and Drigg, growing up, and I'm not expecting accuracy. Hope the La'al Ratty is in there though!

Oh that would be good for a laugh. Rattling along on La'al Ratty at 5mph ...

Yeah, I'm personally really looking forward to seeing how much stuff from the real world they managed to include. Even little things in the screenshots/trailers like the Cumberland style signposts gave me goosebumps.

(Yeah, I know that these same post designs can be found elsewhere in the country, but for me they are so tangibly linked to Cumbria)
if you are 'that' anal about the accuracy then this game wont satisfy you.
its a 'representation' of the cumbrian lake district. its not going to have every single signpost, pot hole and random outhouse that you know and love.
I'm from the SF Bay Area, and Watch Dogs 2 didn't exactly mirror it 1:1 either, but did alright. It's a video game. Creative loicense has been taken. If that raises your blood pressure, then you should speak about that with your general practitioner
It's strongly inspired by the area but they've made alterations to add more interesting locations such as an underground sewer system large enough for people to walk through and the river calder seems to now be as big as a Mississippi to make the site look further away and more of a background feature from your starting area than as close as it would be if the starter area of Wyndhelm was supposed to be a stand in for Seascale
