Agree that he is just nerding out. But this game states it needs a 2060 or higher and the 20 series are the first to introduce DLSS. So even if they had included it, you wouldn't even be able to use it if you have anything older than the 20 series. I'm not sure what the frames are with the 2060 as they don't specify, but I would think that it would still run it. But, I do agree they should have included it so if you do have a 20 series you can boost the frames a bit.
Just this though, once again. It´s really easy, even for people like you... although i actually said it already... But maybe you are the blind one here.
IF YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO USE DLSS/DLAA FOR WHATEVER REASON, YOU COULD SIMPLY NOT ACTIVATE IT AND KEEP PLAYING WITH YOUR NATIVE RESOLUTION. Get this between your ears.
Thank you!
Anyways. This is just peak stupidity going on here. I´m out.
Image quality in this game is awful. Period. Im on 4090 at max "AA" and DLDSR from 5120x2880 to 4K. Still image stability in motion is non existent, foliage shimmering is so bad that it would be much better without any foliage at all, Its so distracting, hard to look at this game in motion, when you leave first bunker, shimmering mess.
I love all this "crisp picture" guys, fans of Threat Interactive and old AA methods. Guys who play games as 1080p on 21 inch monitor so they cant see this SHIMMER. I dont know, maybe its some eye problem, they see "crisp" picture but they dont see all this shimmer that destroys picture quality. Hard to tell whats wrong with them.
But hey, they dont know the difference between DLSS and DLAA, dont know that DLSS4 is almost perfect clear in motion. They just repeat what they GURU from Threat Interactive said about DLSS3 and FSR.
Truth. The times we live in... ;)
I will admit it, you are right. I did read your post wrong. But I think you may have taken what I said wrong. I was just just pointing out to lower resolution as in dropping to 1440 from 4K or 1080 from 1440 to get a better frame rate. Never meant to go to the extreme to lower to a 720P resolution. The game should be able to run this game at 1080 just fine anyway since it is well optimized (besides the shimmer) from what I have been seeing.
So, yes, 720 up scaled to 1440 is obviously going to look better than running it at 720 native and I would rather have it up scaled as well. But if you have to set to performance or ultra performance it may be better to just drop to a lower resolution like mentioned above since it will look better than up-scaling and getting all the smear unless a smeary picture is not an issues for user.
And yes, no harm in having the option to use it if want to or need to. Never really said it shouldn't be there to begin with.
This specific user is ideal, because they themselves don't understand the resoltuon they're using isn't meant for gaming. 3 card generations and these resolutions are still a gimmick for gaming. By next year we're going to have the same types crying about their 8k monitors playing GTA6 at 20-30fps with DLSS5.. maybe MFG will get them that 60fps placebo effect in time.
Gaming is, and hasn't evolved past 1080-1440p. 2k being acceptable upgrade over 1080p. 4k and above has been a resolution ideal for television, movies, 3d work, workstation workflows.. not for gaming. You can see how the "gaming" trend has become entirely luke-warm in the last 2 nivida card generations when it comes to 4k gaming. I scoff at this whole dilemma because evga left after the 30 series.. the absolute final nvidia generation that was meant for gaming. Now everything is pushing ai tensor cores, and we won't likely see any actual improvements until the 60 series. A reason why AMD cards are just slaying nvidia cards today.
I always see people chasing higher resolutions, higher framerates.. and then clinging to DLSS as a savior. Clown world.
Preach. The game is the best optimized one I've seen in the last five years, dlss is a crutch for incompetent/ lazy devs who don't want or don't know how to optimise and COMPRESS THOSE DAMN TEXTURES (amongst other things)
If you have a card that support DLSS you probably don't need it for this game.
This game doesn't push the new effects or best graphics, but has a very detailed world.
Game has an amazing looks versus performance ratio, it also has a perfect frametime I don't think I have seen that the past 5+ years, it just flatlines.
upscaling is not only about performance. its about eliminating sub-pixel shimmering and cleaning up inherently messy details at distance.
which are very evident in this game when looking at foliage or distant objects.
I mean, it is literally scaling.
Do you even understand the purpose of these features?
That's a layer of ugly paint over un-optimised garbage.
Sorry for being mean but this comments are so stupid that i dont know if youre serious or you just trolling me.
