Possible bug: npc took key item for one of the endings and now it is gone (SPOILERS)

I collected the growth serum/stimulant before delivering the idol to the cave. After exiting the cave, Mother Y was there, happy as can be. I had a dialogue option of giving her the stimulant . I did so, and now it is gone. It is no longer in my inventory, there are no leads talking about it, talking with her just gives me the option for bartering. I went back to her original location and checked the ground there, outside the cave and inside the cave. Nothing. Unfortunately, I only noticed this a couple of hours later and don't have a save where I have the item in my inventory anymore. Am I screwed on this ending for the run?

You don't need to give it to her. It stays in ur inventory. But if it lost for whatever reason, yeah, you can't finish this route anymore.

After you delivered the item to the cave Mother Jago will be outside and ask if you want to join the druids. She also mentions getting the growth stimulant for her to speed up the blue growths. So you technically bypassed the leads that would tell you to get it and automatically finished that quest lead. This an alternate bad ending.

Yeah indeed. Seems like you refused to follow druid path.

Ah well. Put game on easiest difficulty, reloaded a save before I started the whole zone, speedran through everything. About two hours later, I got that ending. Cool that knowledge of the game makes everything go smoothly.

Case in point: not recommended for a first playthrough of course, but if you know where everything is and what you have to do (and mash through the dialogue), you can finish the game in less that 1.5 hours on the easiest difficulty. That 5 hours challenge is no problem at all.

Yeah, you don't even need to search for generators 'cause you literally can kill couple of robots and get them.

I mean, some traders or npc's are on your path, which is three batteries and some goodies for the low low price of murder. Didn't do that in my first run, but for a challenge run, sure.

I am currently dealing with the same bug, did the offering, then went and got the growth thing out of my storage and handed it to her and her leads all just ended with her only wanting to barter. My second last ending left, I'm going to not give it to her and see if I can just load it up at the end.

That's what I did in the end, as long as you do the stuff in the cave and don't give her anything, you should be fine. I think she didn't even ask me to give it to her in my second go around, I just gave positive replies to all her suggestions and then got told to use the serum for its intended purpose.
