Freeing Dr. Garrow story relevant?

I freed her, but i am just curious. Is it possible to not free her and still be able to complete the game?

Afaik you can basically kill everyone and still continue the story. Every objective can be completed a different way. She does have a key card for an area but not sure if it's required for finishing

You don't need any of NPC to complete the game, you can kill everyone and still finish it.

can you please tell us WTF an NPC is ? as I've now seen NPC in about 20 threads and still none the wiser ;)

Every character in a game that isn't controlled by an actual person irl.
Although from the point of the person currently playing the game, other people's characters (in an MMO for example) are technically also NPCs as those aren't characters you can play yourself, but that's taking the definition a bit far and just making it confusing haha
