controller not working right

So I am using a xbox series controller. Purchased about a month ago. It works on this game most of the time, but every once in a while, the left thumbstick just stops working. I play games every day, most of them with this controller, and this never happens on other games.

So far, it has happened to me in combat, and in a dialog. Anyone else having this issue or find a work around?

Make sure you aren't accidentally hitting your mouse. I've noticed with this game that all controls basically stop when switching until you hit a button again.

For instance I use a controller as well. When I hit F5 to quick save I have to hit F5 a couple times before the game saves and then it'll take another couple of seconds for the controller to start working again. It is very annoying.

Had the same problem, updated controller via Xbox Accessories; all good now.

Hello, on PC Game Pass I have having this same issue, came to Steam to look for help. I have some more detail about my specific issue. I opened the Xbox Accessories App and can see my controller is connected. When I launch Atomfall things work fine for a while, but then, whenever I hit X to interact with something, my controller disconnects, disappears from the xbox accessories, does not power off, then reconnects within 2-3 seconds. It is making the game unplayable on a controller.

Update: So it isn't just when I press X for anything, it is specifically when I try to pick something up from the environment. I can use X to check my ammo, but when I use X to pick something up in the environment, the controller disconnects for 2-3 seconds and then comes back. It is ONLY when I press X to loot a corpse or pick something up.

Update the firmware for the controller. Open Xbox Accessories, click the ... and check for update.

It’s not an Xbox Brand controller, it’s a PowerA xbox controller. The controller works perfectly in every other game, it’s only this game. There is no option to update firmware and when I visit the website for the controller I have the latest firmware.

I updated the controller firmware and it did not fix the problem. Only occurs in this game.
