Shame about denuvo
I have had my eye on this game for a while but it seems i missed it would be including denuvo so i will have to give it a pass while the publishers feel the need to install 3rd party software onto my device to play it

If that happens the devs can just patch the game to remove it.

Why would they need to patch the game to remove it if (as you claimed) it isn't installed...? \= )

ps. Regardless of whether a dependency or bundled application appears in the add/remove window, any of these applications or systems that are copied to your hard drive are considered "installed".

They would remove the DRM if Denuvo went out of business which is not going to happen anyway.

On the balance of probabilities, no, most companies are not going to waste money by fixing a game that doesn't generate much revenue and is broken by DRM companies.

Plus Denuvo doesn't even need to go out of business. If something changes in your OS or drivers or other installed apps that the old version of their software doesn't like, bam, your game stops working. They don't just freely patch old included versions of their software, that's up to the game devs to update.

You don'town those games anyway. You have a license to play them.

Which is enforced by Steam... That is the DRM that we all agree to by installing Steam.

And your understanding of a license agreements is as woefully ignorant as everything else you're trying to be authoritative on... If the DRM experiences a failure that prevents you using the product you're purchased a license for, it is incumbent upon the licensee to fix the situation. You have done nothing to void that license and they have not invoked a legal right to revoke it.

Funny how you cannot tell anybody of even one instance of that happening ...can you.

Darkspore, off the top of my head. Every single player game which requires an online server. Any kernel mode software (including anti-cheat) which can break the OS (BLOPS6 had an update to AC that caused BSODs when playing the game).

ANyway I could not care less about ancient games. I don't want to play them anyway. Nobody cares about the original Doom games.

Ah yes. It's not happening but if it is, you don't care so it shouldn't matter to anyone else...
Do you often go on rants like this outside, about how someone else is playing with your toys and that bothers you?

Oh my god. There are *two* of you that don't understand the concept of merged files?
Denuvo is its own distinct code, that is integrated into the game code. It has *nothing* to do with the original game code, it is its own program that runs concurrently with the game code.

If a game does *not have Denuvo*, then Denuvo is not installed on your machine. If it *does have Denuvo*, Denuvo is installed and operating on your machine. Period, end of story.

This really should not be this difficult to understand.
No one said the code is merged. I very clearly said executed, as in its being run when the game starts. That's not the same as installing something. I don't know how much more clearer I can make that
Is it on your hard drive, and being executed from said drive? Sounds like it is *installed* on your PC, to me.

Remarkable. I am glad you lot finally came up with a new gaslighting excuse of an argument, I thought I had seen them all. Denuvo/Irdeto are truly bringing their best these days.

I do not understand the boot-licking mentality of the vast majority of the population. There are plenty of reasons to not want to have Denuvo on anything. The best possible thing that could happen to Denuvo is the offices burn down with all servers and back-up servers being eradicated. Or they could just like, close down lol. But, y'know I hate DRM in general.

You're well on your way to flat earth, hollow moon, Dulce base and other fun tinfoil hat conspiracies

Man if you think trump gives a single ♥♥♥♥ about you or any citizen in the United States you are just as bad as a conspiracy theorist. There hasn't been a good politician in years on either side. It genuinely baffles me that people legitimately believe he cares about anything other than himself. But hey, I think both sides are completely idiotic. I apologize for being off-topic.

Let me quickly correct you—you had your eye on a game, but you won’t be playing it because, unfortunately, it has anti-piracy tools, and you won’t be able to steal it for at least the foreseeable/unspecified future? There’s the door.

He seems to care that people arent buying the game so it wouldnt be a big assumption that hes in favour of them buying it

Denuvo sucks. There was one time recently when Steam was down, I tried to play Persona 5 but that wouldn't happen because stupid Denuvo was seeing Steam in "offline mode"[imgur.com] despite the fact that I was still connected to the internet.
It said to go online for the first launch when I know for a fact that it definitely WAS NOT the first launch.
Basically I was blocked from playing a game that I PAID FOR!
How can you people defend this garbage?! :lunar2019madpig:

It's kind of a funny that a game about a nuclear disaster gives your computer cancer...

Not even slightly interested until they get rid of that garbage. Why punish your paying customers?

I don't care if you buy it, but public temper tantrums about how Denuvo makes you mad about literal toys are going to be met with ridicule
