opinions on game after 2+ hours of gameplay
I will say this: if you are looking for a "What if Fallout but British" that isn't Fallout: London,I would say this passes as such with at least a B+ grade.
I'm still currently in the starting area (because i'm an exploration junkie) and I'll say this: The starter area can and will teach you about every General Combat Mechanic the game offers.

the game's visuals are gorgeous, so for those among us who are all about visual appeal first before purchasing a game, I will tell you: for me, this passes with flying colors.

On combat and its difficulty: if played on the suggested game difficulty, the third option when requested, combat is challenging, there are strong risks of getting killed if you take a fight from the wrong angle or get caught flatfooted. and even in case where you get the drop, inexperience will get your ass handed back to you by way of reloading from last checkpoint. If you're the kind of player who goes thinking "God I wish I could just chuck this stick at this guy running at me", consider yourself in good fortune: This game lets you throw your one-handed melee weapons: knives, cudgels and all. now for those of us who go by thinking "Guns loud, is there a bow or supressors for guns?" well, the game guide mentions a bow being available, where? don't know, haven't found/figured it yet. but its in the game, so Skyrim Stealth Archers rejoice. as for guns, there's enough guns to satiate your taste for British firearms. The game rewards accuracy, discourages COD grade gameplay, as in running around all over the place like a squirrel on 300 mg of amp

Bugs? I've not found any so far, which speaks entire libraries just on its own. the game functions very, very smoothly (on my machine at least, GPU: RTX 4070 SUPER, 64 GB RAM AND on a HDD, yea, a Hard Disk Drive, in the year 2025 of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ). This is the most Bug-Free release i've played in a long, long damn time.

To conclude this, I will say this much: if you've got time to invest in a single player game where exploration is strongly encouraged, combat being merciless at times if you go about it in stupid ways, enjoy discoverin a world-space fiddled with a mystery to uncover and solve, lite crafting mechanics and solid gunfighting and melee combat, I encourage you to pick up the game when you can or when your means permit it. so far, I'm enjoying myself and I am very picky and peculiar over the kind of games I enjoy playing.

this on gets a solid passing grade from me so far.
Recommended.

My only issue so far is AI is a bit janky, the instant detection when looking out (crouched) to see where they are makes stealth almost impossible. Especially with how much they stroll about then suddenly turn..

from what i found out: you're not a super duper pooper trooper. you have to find books which teaches new avenues of skills. I found the Stealth Skill Book at a trader and i've picked up the "Stealth takedown" skill, which does as the tin says: turns takedowns into stealth takedowns. the book also grants a skill called Quiet Movement, which appears to reduce the sound of your footsteps when sneaking about. there's another skill in that book but since you haven't asked about it I won't say more.

Played for almost 2 hours and I'm just confused, the main quest said you have to get these batteries but you don't know where they are and it's just hard, I put it on the easiest mode for a reason

Yeah I figured there'd be stealth upgrades but unfortunately doesn't really change how the AI act with the immediate spotting, needs a lean function or something. Reminds me of Stalker 2 with how terrible their AI was (or is, not played it since all the updates) for just immediately detecting you.

I imagine it'll be better once the bow is found but eh, even without stealth in the equation the AI is still pretty janky with how they walk about, had 3 of them just walking at a ledge trying to get to me, took them a good 10 seconds to actually jump down :/ I think it looks beautiful and been enjoying it but when you see the AI doing stuff like that it's pretty off putting.

Can't decide if to refund or keep it and hope there will be some fixes. I've done the latter in the past and been very disappointed (Hello Planet Coaster 2)

I'd like to additionally mention I've also purchased the Bow Mastery skill book from a trader and I believe the skills covering Bows will be to your liking.

Oooh ok :GhostFlowerHappy: thanks a lot for the replies! I probably will keep it tbh as I do find the combat fun, clunking people on the head with a cricket bat never gets old. Hopefully they do improvements to the AI though in the future.

Will look forward to getting the bow :D
Game isn't really BAD so far. I'm struggling cause I'm doing max difficulty. But even then, I'm annoyed with the stealth system since you rarely get the opportunity to get one man without alerting others. I get ammo well enough but it's still scarce enough that I will reload a save if I miss like, 5 shots in a row. My biggest beef is STORAGE. WHERE THE HELL DO I GO TO DROP THINGS OFF TO PICK UP LATER. I know there is a pneumatic system but I have yet to find one.

have you tried to clunk someone over the head with a cricket bat... from a distance?
