Sad for me.
Additionally, there actually are people who suffer from motion sickness (and no, I don’t want to start "that" usual discussion again either) and simply "can’t" play in first-person. If someone wishes for a third-person mode in a game, it doesn’t hurt anyone.
And as for the argument, "The developers could spend their time on other things,”.
I can counter that with: If they use their time on something that attracts MORE players (e.g., people who prefer third-person or struggle with motion sickness), they make more money from the game and can provide better support.
However, it is hard to do. But what i dont like is when Dev giving excuses saying "1st person is more immersive". 1st person is just zoomed view of third person and all the time u can only see your weapon. U cant really see your footing and u cant really see or sense your side n behind as well compared to 3rd person.
As for 3rd person, u gonna have btter control and more view for your character. In real life we have so much wider view and we can even sense whats coming at our back. 3rd view also give additional enjoyment to custom your character, cool animation, n awesome outfit or armor.
With 3rd person u can immerse in the world n the character that u play. coz u hv btter view for the world and better view of your character in term of how they look, fight, move, interact, etc.
No, I can't. So, stop speaking for others, understood?
I can't immerse myself when I am clearly somebody else in that game, period.
If you are one of those who need to "play" somebody else ... so be it, but I wan't to experience the adventure by "myself" to be immersed, and I am no immersed by being a puppeteer for a 3D model running in front of a camera.
Also in roleplaying games you roleplay a character, not yourself. Part of the beauty of the experience is creating the character you roleplay and being able to see said character, the gear they wear and so on.
1st person only people are basically FPS kids that have no idea what roleplaying and RPGs are. Also it's so much easier to make a game first person only, which is why many devs opt to do so, using the unfounded and stupid excuse of "b-but it's more immersive". No, it isn't and never will be.
