i think this game is sort of inspired by Fallout 4: London but i'm not 100% sure on that.
It could be simplified by using a rather androgynous model and voice (if any voice at all). Loose-fitting clothes and gloves can help with that.
if it is irrelevant to the story, I'd like it to not revert to the "default guy". Ladys are playing games too and in an immersive game like this, where you make your own story so to say, it's nice for the immersion to have the voice & addressing of that matching too
or that:
make it as androgenous and not-comitting as possible too!
