Issue with Inputting Diagonals
I've been testing this and, at least with analog stick on Xbox One controller, the diagonals have to be pretty perfect in order for the game to register them. I've played many other fighting games and none have this strictness to it.

I realize there are some old threads talking about this, but I couldn't find any solutions, so hopefully someone now knows if there's a way to go around this, such as some external tools or something. "Getting used to it" isn't good advice as I will keep playing other fighting games where this is a non-issue, and getting other controllers just for this game is also out of the question.

I really, really like this game, it's definitely one of the best I've played in my opinion, but missing some DP-motion special here and there and occasionally dropping combos or fail reversals in crucial situations due to the super strict diagonals really puts me off.

Can someone help? :cf_Taokaka:

Its just how the game is, not much you can do about it.

Maybe you could make a script for a diagonal input?

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you elaborate?

You play with the analog stick ?

Yes, for these kinds of games, always did, always will. It's just so much better.

UNIST may be the only exception as diagonal inputs don't register as normal.

I mean a macro/script that inputs a diagonal using the keyboard when it's inputted on the controller, to make it easier

It is good advice though. If a game has strict inputs, then you learn to clean up your inputs, if you care enough. Alternatively you can play characters that don't rely on 623 type inputs much.

Yes its a problem with the game itself, it stuffs diagonals if you input them too fast. I still dont know why they have not fixed this. And its not intended and definbetly a bug since i have tested doing full 360 motions with the pad and looking at input not all directions are succesfully input for some reason. Just have to pray to the fgc gods that its fixed in the next version, I never found a solution.

You mean with 3rd-party tools? I guess I'll look into that.

If it is the only solution, then I guess it's the only possible advice, but I still wouldn't argue it's a good one. As I mentioned, I play mainly other fighting games where this is not an issue, so it will be hard to develop such habits, not to mention that in more tense moments input errors will always eventually surface anyway, if it's this strict.

Being a problem would make sense. I see no good reason for this "strictness" to be in place in this game alone (from those I played). One can only hope UNICLR is better in that regard.
