It depends and it varies, either ways, use certain netcode stages that would possibly help (like the training stage, for instance).

Got myself some good matches today with little to no lag.

Better than the previous one. I just make sure is high.

Good Netcode 3-4 frames overall

The netcode is absolutely jank. When it's good, it's really good, like 4 frames delay at max.
But when it gets bad, ooh boy, the game desyncs between you and your opponent every 2nd round, not being able to enter even the character select screen, etc etc. And this is against the same player too.
It's all up to luck really.

Bad

everyone i saw play the game said the netcode is a significant improvement over UNIEL and BBCF, i've yet to see it for myself though

also "Park" is one of the best netplay stages, training causes issues to some people (screen tearing in my case)

What exactly is meant by a 'netplay stage'? Are some stages actually causing FPS issues? Is it because some people are on very old rigs? I'm having a hard time believing so many people have a rig that can only barely scratch 60fps if they force a certain stage to be used. This game is not that demanding.

Also, ranked is pretty awful. I don't think the restrictions do much if anything. Setting a 4 bar minimum, I will still get matched with people between 5F to 8F, anything over 3F is not playable IMO. Player matches are fine if you're lucky enough to get someone who can find the lobby. Discord is probably the only way to get workable (3F max) matches, and even then it's a bit of a crapshoot.

I might go as far to say that the netcode for AC+r isn't much worse than this.

You having no problems with the netcode does not make it impossible for some people to sometimes have issues with it, considering that PC is a platform with highly varying hardware.

Oh we're pulling off anecdotes? 99% of my friends have problems with UNIST. Do I fit in?

I would say so far it's ok, not amazing, not terrible. I'm playing on a powerline adapter aka not wired and the connections have been pretty solid and even the bad ones(8 frames or higher) were still managable but in no way great. Generally though its around 3-5 frames for me which for me feels fine.

inb4 it's all up to luck.
Can't escape from gacha hell baby.

EDIT: I know of some people in other SEA countries who has no problems with the game whatsoever, but some person not having the same problem doesn't mean that the problem didn't exist. I'm speaking for my friend too on this, as we both have the same problem when trying to play against multiple other people.

If it helps at all: my experience with the previous game on PC (UNIEL) were all fairly smooth/perfect (I mostly play against people from Germany, France and the UK, I myself am from Germany). With UNIST, my experience so far has been even smoother.

Since I play other games with the same people: it's much better than BBCF (except for one person, where BBCF runs better for them) and GGXrdRev1, and definitely better than GGXXACPR (which is unplayable). It is not as good as Skullgirls, Fightcade or Melty Blood's fan-made netcode, but oftentimes I can't tell a difference.
