Option to turn off auto-combos?

Don't mash A. It also might not auto combo if you're holding back, I don't remember.

Nah, holding back A doesn't help, at least with Mika, Enkidu, and Hilda. Certain characters like Hyde can just input 8AAA to turn off autocombo though, as shown in the tutorial mode of the game.

it's actually useful, characters like gordeau can do 2B5B5AAA and since its an autocombo he gets to use 2b and 5b twice

Think of it as an additional combo tool - it's intended to be in there.

If you aren't mashing then you'll never notice it and as others said, it's additional tool you can use in combination of other stuff.

Actually some combinations in the game are not possible through normal inputs, but are possible through autocombos. I am not sure why would the devs do this, but actually the autocombo has a role. Like said above, you must hold 8 and press AAAAA to do 5A consecutively without autocombo.

After first A hold up , even if u mash a it wont auto combo.
It was a part of the tutorials.

The 5A8AAA works on all characters, but only if it's blocked, otherwise you'd jump cancel the 5A and you may end up in a worse situation.

And yeah if you want to not do auto combo you can just not mash 5A, mash 2A instead if you want to hitconfirm.
