You misunderstood my post. I am well aware of the rule. What I was saying is:
IF (condition 1)
AND (condition 2)
THEN Moss is unplayable.
Condition 1 is that the player does not have a plant to surrender.
Condition 2 is that the player does not have viral enhancers to gain a plan to use.
Amazingly, this is one thing they actually fixed. In the first couple of years, it would not allow Moss to be played by a player who had already played VE. (Similarly, it would not allow Nitrophilic Moss for a player with VE and one plant in possession).
After numerous complaints (mostly from me), they finally added it to their list of known bugs and fixed it.
It took a couple years. To fix one short block of code for the case where a player has no plant and is trying to play Moss:
if: (player has VE)
then: ("moss" playable = YES)
It's pathetic.
