Does everyone need to have it to play it or is having the lobby leader own it enough?

for a private game only the leader need to have the expansions, for a game with random people you need to have the expansions to join the game so all players need to have them (except for quickplay)

Not quite right. With Preludium, everyone needs the Expansion.
With Hellas/Elysium I can join the games without having it.

Actually you can join both Hellas and Preludium without owning them in online play. But only if you choose the quickjoin option where you cannot pick the game you join. You just join the next game you meet the karma prerequesit for and if that game is a game with expansions you get lucky and play them too.

This is not true, I played a game that I chose myself a couple of hours ago. I don't have Hellas and Ellysium extensions.

Strange, I was shown in the games lobby that they are blocked from me. They have the closed lock symbol over the join button. Will check it again later.
