Has the worst resource discount bug
The game sets your any resource discount to maximum sometimes for no reason. The problem here is:
1. They make you use your resource but also pay credits if you can pay for it
2. They make you use all your resource despite being able to save some by using some credits
3. This often makes you pay way over the original price. I just payed 36 by using 10 titaniums and 6 heat energy(I was Helion) on a 27 cost card.
4. BIGGEST PROBLEM:You can't change the discount value at all! I also was playing phobolog and had to use 10 titaniums on big asteroid. I used 40 credits on a 27 credit card lol

Is this just the epic version or is the steam version still super buggy as hell as well? Are they the same version?? Does anyone know if it existed before or was introduced with this patch?

Amazing. This appears to be a new and truly incredible bug.
Read this forum --- most of it is bug reports. This is a bad implementation of a great game.
I would say your report of this bug is hard to believe if there were not several years of history of similar things. At least you got the game free - still too expensive.

After years of not caring, even with a direct appeal to the game designers on BGG where they agreed with the criticism and indicated improvements would happen, the game continues to be riddled with bugs. The worst part is how great the base game is and how wrecked this implementation is. Fortunately there are other options.

What's all this nonsense about a version on Epic? It somehow sounds even worse than the steam version. Is it an attempt by Asmodee to release an update? What exactly is going on?

Yeah I love the base game too! Have the full set each bought right after it was made. I guess TTS is an option if I really want to play online.

It seems epic has a 1.4 version, while steam is 1.515 for some reason. So we have a bunch of bugs that's supposedly resolved in the steam version. Plus epic games doesn't have any means of communication to the devs, so all of us are writing here.

I'm on a ban of spending money I earn on Asmodee items, and that includes Asmodee Digital.

Free Epic week meant I'd give it a shot, and if I liked it I would buy it for my wife and I. Nope. Old version with known bugs is what they give me to try? Guess my money stays away from Asmodee yet again.

The bug I noticed right away was the resource issue. Some turns I could not adjust the steel/titanium spending, some I could only go from 1 shy of my max resources to max to reduce the price (and overpay), and some turns it would behave normally. In a solo game I had to delay a turn many actions in the hopes that next turn it would work right.

Yeah, if I am desperate enough to not play the physical game then I'll program my own digital version. This version I tried to see if they were worth the money gave me a resounding answer - no to all their titles. I hope they choose some other studio for Project Ares and I doubt I'll give Asmodee Digital another chance (much like I won't give their board games a chance anymore).

The Steam version does and always has had problems as well, it isn't just the Epic free version. The crazy new resource bug I'm seeing reported is just a cherry on top of a bunch of other cherries on top of a mountain of bugs, inexplicable choices, etc. To see some bugs actually get fixed only to later return with great frequency has been an impressive ride.

I have an EpicGame version of TF and o having the same problem! playing Phobolog - and Asteroid Mining. The card cost is 30 ...and I have to pay 40 worth of titanium to buy it :/ then, in the next generation, the same issue - playing a Comet that brings the ocean on the map, I could not change how much titanium I would like to pay.

I've run into the resource bug too, I think it's a general problem when you spend iron and platinum to play card, it seems to happen the majority of times when you don't have enough money to make the purchase without spending iron or platinum.

What happens is that ALL of your platinum or iron will be spent, even if it's value is higher than the value of the card. I've lost platinum worth 16ME playing a single card. My brother lost half his starting resources when he played the corporation that starts with 20 iron (can't remember it's name).

You can see when this bug will trigger, since you won't be able to select the amount of iron/platinum you want to spend, the selection arrows will be blacked out.

I think there are also other placement bugs on the world map, that lets you place cities and other tiles on illegal locations.

I forgot to mention that this is for the version of the game that is on epic store.

I'm getting this too. Phoblog is literally unplayable, and several cards which require you to "save" 1 spare titanium or steel to use later are WAY worse, since you sometimes cannot purposely save a res.
Ixis_Kaeras May 8, 2022 @ 4:58am
i've the same problem, i cant choose how many iron or titan used for reduce the cost of cards... the - and + button dosent work
Fortuna May 8, 2022 @ 6:17am
Helion is unplayable as well. The bug triggers when you are short of cash and using a card. So if you need to use even one heat, then you lose all control and dump resources.
lordbebech May 9, 2022 @ 4:12am
Yeah, I notice also that a problem occurs when you are low on cash (MC) but still can pay with resources, then all the problems with arrows changing their amounts occur.

Seems like this bug is more widespread that I could have think of. Got it in my first and only scenario played last evening.
This is bad and good in the same time. Something that bad must be fixed fast, right? Right?
lordbebech May 9, 2022 @ 5:40am
Hope it will be fixed for relase of Hellas and Elysium....
