Unbalanced factions
Do you also think that the special abilities and starting conditions for the different factions are unbalanced?

Some strats and abilities don't seem to be able to compete with the others. Like Helion is far better than most others.

There's better corps than Helion. Ecoline is the most broken, but also gets focused a lot by the opponents. Credicor is universally good because of the insane starting gold and a very useful effect. Teractor is Credicor with a slight nerf. The one with 20 steel and 10 titanium are very situational since they technically give you a huuge amount of money but if you don't have the right cards you're poor. And ofc freaking Tharsis. Oh Tharsis, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Anyways, it all depends on your starting hand.

Really? Planting a lot of woods never seemed to be able to outcompete other strats. Is there any good webpage for strat info?

Ecoline is not a good corp, you really struggly to get money, especially if you need to do standard project cities.
Credicor, Tharsis and Saturn are the best. You can play them with basically every starting hand.
Most of the others are very dependent on the starting hand and thus inferior to those 3, but can of course still be good with a decent hand, it just happens not that often.

I mean I agree with most of what you said, but saying Ecoline is not a good corp is just utterly wrong. If you don't focus down the Ecoline player and don't hold back Temperature rise a bit he can just steamroll the game. Ecoline is super dangerous.

the fact that none of you have called out the factions that are generally considered OP in the board game community (who have been playing much longer and many more games) shows that the faction balance is more nuanced then you might have realised. Tharsis Republic is very likely the most overpowered if any in this version (base game).

I think in the standard game the factions are comparable. All factions can be used to good end if you draw good cards and play them properly; likewise all factions (including Tharsis) stumble if you get crap cards or don't play them properly.

In the solo version there is a huge discrepancy between the different factions. Thorgate, Helion and Credit Corps are almost a must for solo. Drawing the correct cards is also critical. As the game was playtested and balanced primarily for 2+ players, that is to be expected, I suppose.
