Are unselected and discarded cards supposed to be recycled towards the end of the game?
The cards you don't pick during research and draft phases, the cards you sell for 1 MC, and cards that get discarded by Search for Life, etc. Are they supposed to be recycled when you start running out of cards towards the end of the game? I mean compared to the tabletop version because in the online game they are recycled. And if you want to prevent your opponent from playing a card you have to buy it and hold onto it.

Discarded cards go into the Discard Pile.

When a card needs to be drawn and there are not cards in the Draw Pile, shuffle the Discard Pile and make that the new Draw Pile.

Yes, cards are recycled in this way, according to the official rules. The digital game should execute it the same way, but some players report multiple instances of cards for example.

Denial of a card to another player by drafting but not buying it is pretty common. That's pretty safe when there is still a big draw pile/lots of game left. When the draw pile gets low, yes, sometimes it is right to buy a card to hold until the Discard Pile gets recycled.

I have seen cards recycled well before game end.
