Game Time and Turn Time
I just played a game with 2 other people online which was perfectly fine. All players were playing reasonably fast and no one was truly waiting.
Game Time was set to 45 min though which without much of a warning ended the game by kicking me. This was also the End of the Game for the other players. No Fun at all.

First of all : I did not even know where in the game you can see how much time is left. There seems to be no public clock, which is very bad.

Second of all : Why instantly and without any questions kick the player. You would never have a player lose the game at a real table when the stretch their timer.
Others should be able to say 'it's fine, they can still play'. Of course that is not very consequent but it needs to be fun for all players and not being too strict is part of that.

Third of all : There are no turn timers, which are way more needed. You can limit a players total time in the game, but not per turn.
This means that you can have a player lose after one single 45 minute turn without any possibility to remove them from the game or have someone use 42 minutes early on so that they are doomed to lose before the game truly ends - which again ends the game for all players involved.

This needs to be improved.

I agree with everything you wrote; people have been requesting a turn timer for more than a year.

But the timer is clearly visible under your name and corp logo on the left side of the screen.

It's not a "running clock" in the sense that it doesn't count seconds, but it will go from 1H to 59m to 58m etc. And when it drops below 1 minute, it counts down from 60 seconds.

thanks for the tip. did not see it at all though.

This just bit me too and I'm very frustrated. I was so invested in that game and then BAM, game over. Kicked... not counting VPs to conclude the game or anything, it's just CANCELLED. What a poorly-designed feature.

Unfortunately I doubt they'll add turn timers... they have our money, and there's no need to continue support unless it becomes a blocking issue on purchases. :(

I can't understand why I set 45 minutes and i've started with 42 and I was crearly playing fast but my time was running out so fastly and the time of my opponent was normal. Maybe it's because of animation? How can i fix it? I don't really care all the graphic effects if at the end I'm going to be kicked out without any notice ... what a waste ...

well, sounds like you took 3 minutes to pick your corp and starting cards.

I often have 57 m left in a 1h game after doing that.

As for why it's running so much - the timers run almost continuously, even when it's not your turn. They run during production, during your own animations AND your opponents',. and they run during production and generation change and turn order change, and during the final greenery placement.

How to speed this up? Install MoogV's speedMod.

Does the MoogV magic work for online/multiplayer then? That's good news for sure. Do all the players need it for it to work? I haven't tried, I have only played with a friend who is honorable and we set the timer to a day or something so it's irrelevant.

1) yes.
2) no

3) Be careful with it. it also includes some other features that if misused, could crash your game.

example: it also eliminates the exploit cheat of killing someone's plants if he has protected habitats - it makes it so that no target is selected instead of selectin the game host.

But if you click confirm without clicking "no one", the game will lock up.

Ah, good warning. I wonder if "no one" as the default choice would work. I should really try it out, thanks for the info. It seems like an impressive bit of work.

Yes, that would work - (that was my specific intent of my last sentence - to convey that clicking "no one" works.)
