I just won a solo game with Thorsgate where in my opening hand the only useful card in it was Standard Technology so I decided to try and win without using any other cards. I bought only that card from my opening hand.

I spent the first 3 generation buying power plant standard projects until I had 13 energy production and then started to buy water tiles starting with the card draw spaces to sell them and then the plant ones. Once I got to 8 water tiles placed I switched to buying greeneries so that I could get the free water tile from the temperature bonus. I ended up maxing all the parameters on generation 13 and then built some cities and greeneries to get some more points.

I only got 78 points, but if you have Thorsgate as a corporation option and Standard Technology in your opening hand it is a guaranteed solo victory.
