Protected Habitat bug
Protected habitat should only protect resources (plants, animal and virus), not plant production.

correct, that was the only glitch i saw in my first game. a guy had protected habs and i used a couple -plant production cards on him (i.e. small animals) and it only let me target myself or the third player.

I just got the Deimos Down card played against me whilst having the protected habitats in place and lost a lot of greenery as a result. That's a bug, right? That card should prohibit any greenery removal by my opponents! Most frustrating...

Protected habitats does not work properly.

I've never seen protected habitats protect someone's plant PRODUCTION, but if that did occur, that's also an error.

I can confirm that Protected Habitats is indeed bugged and does not protect plants properly.

The Protected Habitats aren't meant to protect your production against reductions caused by your opponents' cards such as Small Animals, Fish, Birds, etc.

Only the already produced greenery resources should be safe against the cards such as Deimos Down, Large Asteroid, etc or the Virus. If it worked that is! :'(

Is there an official way to report this issue to the DEVs?

Yeah, this forum.

The developers have been aware of this bug for months. They're just too broke / lazy / incompetent / indifferent to actually make any repairs.

And when they do make a repair, they'll break something else, as has always been the case.

That sounds a bit frustrated :) So you don't recon they'll fix that?

I did hear this game was very buggy but I haven't realised to what extent until I tried playing an online match for the first time!

Quite unfair when the last patch note says:
Protected Habitats (173) doesn't work as designed (to be fixed in the next patch).

They claim it's been fixed in today's patch! Can anyone confirm?
Je-Nas Dec 10, 2019 @ 8:30am
I can confirm you cannot hit the resources of the Protected Habs player anymore...

EDIT: Frank Jones reported in the other topic that you actually still can hit the protected player, in the specific case he is the default target. So, alas, the card is still not fully fixed.

As for being unable to reduce his plant production, I can't say (I never saw that bug anyway; EDIT: but now I’m convinced it does happen)...

We have a bug (this has happened several times) where a player attempts to remove a plant/microbe/animal, but there is protected habitats at work. None can be stolen, and the screen simply locks the game. We can't click the confirm button, it just stops everything. Very frustrating as it was in the last generation!
We were playing a two player local game.

this has been reported approximately 50 times.

Maybe the developers can make a pinned post of existing issues to be addressed, that way users don't have to waste their time reporting the same bugs over and over again?

Protected Habitats are also bugged insofar as they prohibit you to steal from your own cards. The card clearly states it only protects against opponents, and it's a valid tactic to "reshuffle" your accumulated tokens using predators or ants.
